Morning, all!
I'm helping a member of the HZ-Forum ID a mystery casting that he found. We're trying to identify the maker, and the subject. Here are the pics:
As far as the subject goes, we think we've got him identified as Napoleonic and a Prussian. It's hard to tell whether the casting is intended to portray an ensign, or if the flagstaff was added later, and it's hard to tell if the finial is supposed to be the Prussian eagle or an Iron Cross. But the sculpted detail suggests a Prussian infantryman of the later Napoleonic period.
As far as the maker goes, we've very few clues. The figures is approximately 90mm, and it's been suggested that it could be from Tradition (which I tend to agree with) or possibly a larger-scale Heyde figure (I'm not so sure). The base is molded with a distinct step, that I have only seen previously on 54mm figures from ANI.
So, I thought that I should put this to our Treefrog Street Irregulars and see what we might come up with.
Oh, and here's the original thread at HZ, in case anyone would like to see the original discussion:

(albeit in German)
Thanks in advance, prosit!
