Hi Guys,

Chris’ suggestion of the above is a nice idea but….alas not practical if we’re trying to keep the costs down – sorry!

Best wishes and happy collecting,

Andy C.

Tank commanders can be swapped out from other K&C sets, while adding a piece of camo netting here and there along with some twigs thrown on the sides to replicate breaching logs should do the trick fairly inexpensively.
The main concern would be the tank numbering which "is" taken care of for us ^&grin

Shame as different commanders would have been a great idea.

Maybe a set of tank commanders sold separately for mix and match... Just ideas. Collectors love quirky sets.

Chris ,

I love your idea , just don't think Andy will go that route...Just thinking if i buy two 38t ' s , instead of just letting both AFV's sit in my display with identical commanders , i am going to look for another commander to swap in...Two other options could be to find a commander & repaint him , or if there is a resin kit maybe go that route...
Anybody got any idea's or thought's on this ?! Mitch what do you think ?!

I had Captkronos, a forum member, sculpt and paint generic tank commanders ( German and U.S. ) as hatch warmers for me..You might want to ask him. Michael

Michael ,

Are your german tank commanders of the early war variety ?! Would love to see some pics of your tank commanders...

Joe:

It is ideas/questions like this that make the wait for the 38t even more difficult!

Best,
Jason

Jason ,

I know ! Just playing off the news that there will only be one/same K&C tank commander for all three 38t's...I plan on buying two at least ! So kicking off the thinking process...

Joe:

Integrating other sets really makes the possibilities endless, I am following this thread closely to see if any other ideas come up.

Best,
Jason

Joe...

The panzer I commander may well work the only issue would be the width of his arms. I would use other tank commanders when I repainted the Tunisian tiger I used the standing figure and sawed him in half repainted him in panzer black and he was perfect. You could get some cheap single tank commanders and modify them to work with other panzers. In terms of kits I don't know how well they would work in terms of scale but, if that's not a huge issue its a easy way to get some great early war commanders. I would look at 1/32nd releases.

Mitch ,

I like the idea of using a standing tank commander & sawing him in half...You are right about the 1/35 kit's , that just wouldn't look right...
I was even looking at DelPrado...They have two different standing panzer commanders 1/30...Wouldn't mind giving those a go @ a repaint...
Got alot of time before this 38t is available...Maybe this will get me back to my workbench because i haven't worked on anything in awhile !
