Found this on youtube tonight and thought it was a very well-made promotional segment for Kings X, King & Country and toy soldiers in general... :)

I like the way he describes the store, King & Country with recognition to other makers, the hobby and the way toy soldiers tie in history with the Alamo as a backdrop. The visual presentation is excellent as well...!!! ^&cool

... and the Academy Award goes to Kings X... Very well done indeed...!!! :smile2:

That was a very well done presentation. Will be looking forward to seeing Martin in May at the Texas Show !

I was glad he commented on the Germans being the #1 subject matter. As a Jew, I always wondered why so many people collected the Nazis vs. The allies. Do you agree that a lot has to do with the uniforms and merely liking the bad guy? If this is too much of a thread drift, feel free to move it

Actually, if I collected WW2 (... and I don't), I would probably collect more Germans too but only because of the uniforms. No other reason!

I collect the Germans for a number of reasons, among them being the fact that I had German relatives who served in the war.

Great spot on Kings X. It really is a great shop and a must see for all K&C fans.

I just want to be clear in case people get the wrong idea...I have no issue whatsoever with the German figures and those who collect them

That store looks fantastic, I'd love to get there some day and check it out

Zblang-

I for one do not take issue with your question as to why some collectors gravitate towards the Germans. My two step-sons are Jewish and I have taken the youngest to Kings -X. They had an LAH display at the time and he was not at all offended by it. He admired the workmanship and asked questions from a historical perspective.

Agian, the store is amazing and the people that work there really make oft what it is.

Best,
Jason

Very nice video...that boy is charismatic isn't he...^&grin...

can't understand how Martin was snubbed at the Oscars after watching it...

Yeah nice clip, looks like a great shop to visit someday.

Hi Guys! Thanks for the compliments on the video and the shop! This was actually a film student's project who asked me to participate. I also thought he did a great job showcasing the store by showing all the different K&C series we carry! We have a great shop and look forward to showing it, so come on down and visit us during the Texas 2013 Toy Soldier Show May 25th & 26th 2013!!!

Jason ,

I had relatives whom fought in the war as well , for Germany & Poland & my grandfather worked in the steel mill making tanks in the USA...I believe all these factors caused my interest in history as well as collecting Toy Soldiers...Cannot find much or any Polish stuff these day's sadly though...
Look's like a great shop...I used to have a Toy Soldiers shop within 45 minutes of my house but it closed down in the late 90's...I did use to enjoy walking thru that store back in the day !

Joe:

My dad has photos of my relatives who fought for the Germans, he even has their medals etc. Through my dad and his family I even know what units they served with.

Kings X is great, Martin and all those who work there strive to give the best customer service imaginable. Andy, as always, has chosen the best people.

I am truly lucky to live in 2 places, both of which have a toy soldier shop close to where I reside. Sierra Toy Solider in Los Gatos, California is about 10 minutes away and Kings X in San Antonio is about 20 minutes away.

Best,
Jason

Jason,

I also have pictures of my great uncles from WW2 , My grandfather whom was in the Kreigsmarine & still resides in Germany gave them to me...I also have a picture of my great grandfather from the 1st World War...Makes history more than just stories in a book , when your ancestry can be traced back to these wars...
I sadly am unsure of what units they were actually attached to other than one dying in France & the other in the Ukraine...
I would really be nice to have a Toy Soldier store near me , like i said i used to have one within 45 min drive but that sadly went under long ago...I geuss TreeFrog Treasures would be the closest one to me , i believe i could drive there in a few hours...But i never have...
Been to the Chicago Show twice in i believe 99 & 2000...Met Andy from K&C back then...Great guy !
You are definetly lucky having two TS shop's so close by...

Yup, I will be there. I think I admitted that despite living in San Antonio I still have not been to Mad Dogs, so even beyond the show (which I attended 2 years ago) and Kings X I am also looking foward to a pint or two at Mad Dogs!

Best,
Jason

Would there be someone filming the speaking bits at the dinner and posting it to this site? {sm4}

How about the same person that filmed the King's X promo!!!
