I just set up a 12 by 12 inch diorama representing WW2 in England during the London bombings (Blitz) that started on 7 September 1940 after Hitler decided to stop bombing airplane fields and hit London and other cities for the RAF's bombing of Berlin.

The 12 inch square diorama base is made by J.G. Miniatures as is the backdrop which I just got today. The ruined building is also made by John Gittins and came off of my Battle of the Bulge diorama which I purchased back in about 2000. Also, today I obtained K&C sets from their Field of Battle series, namely, sets FOB 067 "Mother & Daughter", FOB 072 "Danger UXB" of an Engineer Officer looking over unexploded bomb, FOB 075 "Blitz Ploice Constable" and FOB 086 " Newspaper Seller#2". The diorama base was especially made to fit in K&C's set FOB 072. Note that the Mother and Daughter of K&C set# FOB 067 are looking upwards to see possible more enemy airplanes. Please see #3 photos below.

Cold comfort from the newspaper heading RAF bombing Berlin, when you are walking in the ruins of your own city. Really nice display,{bravo}}, Robin.

Splendid scene Gary, thanks for posting. I am a big fan of JG's product, they produce some excellent releases.

Yeah Churchill took some verbal flak from a lady resident when he toured the streets one day regarding his appeal for them to "persevere" .

I agree nice diorama.

Very nice.
Positive comment : a bit more rubble on the street would make it more authentic
guy:)

Very nice. You may have to extend this when the Bomb squad get the new Morris!! I have just finished a similar (ish) building myself for this very set made from foam and cork tiles.

anyway, nice set up and some great sets

Hi Gary,

Many thanks for sharing your new London Blitz in 1940 display. I see the beginning of great diorama with an excellent selection of figures from the "Fields of Battle" series. Of the three newspaper vendors made, I have the other two figures that indicate the start of the WWII in Europe and the Asia-Pacific respectively.

All the Best, Raymond. :)

Hello Raymond:

I hope you are doing well in Singapore. Thank you very much for your comments. I appreciate them along with the prior #9 comments and "Like this Post" hits to this Thread.

I decided not to get the K&C FOB 073 "Sapper Sergeant" as it did not seem that it would add that much to this 12 inch square diorama. Also K&C Royal Engineer's bomb disposal truck would not fit in well along with the FOB figures already on the diorama base. Thus, I do not plan on adding any more sets. Also, this small diorama is now on a small display table that would not allow for any further expansion of this diorama. Alas, finding good display space is always a probelm. This London Blitz diorama is in the same room that has all my other WW2 era displays. My K&C American Battle of the Bulge GI's that were in or just behind the old John Gittins Ruined Building are now behind some rocks fending off the attacking Germans. I hope to see some photos of your K&C WW2 and SOHK displays some day soon.

Very best regards, Gary
