THE GREAT PLAINS WAR series (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the catalogue page Martyn - interesting to see I'm probably about half-way there with various lookalike pieces in my collection ( done from castings or modified old TS). Not so sure about "the Hanging Tree" - though it might grow on me yet! (sic). I've already fired off a query to one of my favourite places in Dorset - with a copied pic of the Fur Trader attached - just to see what might turn up? You never know...........:Djb

Giles will come up trumps for you {bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

Larry,
you beat me to it, but yes, Bucking Bronco and Fur Trader. I think there is also a Pony Express set, I will try and dig out.

I spoke to Len this afternoon and in conversation bought up the Wild West range, Len told me that he was sad the series didn't gain the popularity he had hoped for as there were lots of ideas in the pipeline, such as other Indian tribes but unfortunately it was not to be

Thanks Martyn. Len also said they had looked into a "Custer's Last Stand" set as well but the sale ended that thought. Tommy

View attachment 114268View attachment 114269 Hi Martyn: Congratulations on your Christmas presents. At your invitation these are my WW6(Officer) and WW7(Trooper) Notice my base colors are the reverse of yours. The paint colors on my Trooper are different. On my Officer, the pistol is silver and there is a "U S" brand on the shoulder of his horse. I bought mine from Mike(T of T) about the time Len sold Trophy. I believe Mike asked Len to do some special painting. Tommy

Is there any significance to the different paint schemes (or is it just the whim of the painter that day)? Mine appear a little different as do the ones on eBay right now.

Brad: I think mine were a special per a request from Trophy of Texas. Given this series did not sell well, the production was probably sporadic, and over the years, different brands of paints were used per Len. Tommy

Tommy...love your "Rough Justice" set and your WW6 mounted Officer figure...very nice...
