Martyn,
What campaign would this set be appropriate with? Thanks.
Larry,
I recently received a figure in the same regimental colors as your last photo and Martyn identified them as Royal Sussex.
Brad
Hi Lawrence

I am not aware that Trophy has ever made Green Howards, this regiment looks look like my favorite King Rifles (green jackets):salute::Not sure of the set number or regiments for these sets: Green Howards, 66th Berkshires, Royal Sussex
May be DEQ 44. Trophy or Dragon Crest mark? TommyScots Guards - Not sure what set number - anybody know?

Tommy,
Have been trying to figure this out and can't come up with a definitive answer. From what I can gather, the following is a list of MG sets:
EQ6A - Maxim Gun on Infantry Carriage - Detailed Maxim Gun mounted on a wheeled carriage with hinged lids. A three man crew is included
EQ18A - Gardener Gun - Gardener Rapid Fire Gun mounted on a carriage. Three man crew is available as the Camel Corps or Conn Rangers
EQ37 - Gatling Gun and Crew - Gatling Gun mounted on a heavy carriage similar to a field Gun. Ammo boxes mounted on each side of the gun have detailed opening lids. This set has a Naval Crew, consisting of one Officer and two sailors
EQ44 - Gatling Gun and Crew - Same as EQ37 but has a Military Crew, including a seated Private to fire gun, one Private standing with spare magazine and an Officer with binoculars
EQ49 - Nordenfeldt Machine Gun - A multi-barrelled gun mounted on an infantry carriage with a three man crew including an officer
EQ50 - Maxim Gun Detachment - American Maxim Gun mounted on a tripod with two man crew and ammo box
EQ52 - Same gun as EQ49, but with a Naval Crew
From this list, the only possible one is EQ6A, but the description calls for a wheeled carriage with hinged lids. No hinged lids on the sets I photographed, but don't know if this description in the catalogue was incorrect?
Sadly, I do not have any original boxes, but all the figures are stamped with the Trophy mark. Any info, help or guesses appreciated.
Lawrence
Good for you Martyn. TommyHi Lawrence
Set# EQ44 - GATLING GUN
The Scots Guards are armed with a Gatling Gun in your set, this is an early version of the Trophy Gatling gun which features a ACCLES DRUM from 1883, the drum looks like a giant doughnut for want of a better description. Trophy changed the drum to the earlier, more practical BROADWELL DRUM in later sets, this drum looks like a small barrel. The sets with this drum are a more accurate example of the Gatling in use by the British Army in the late 1800's
Hope this helps
Cheers
