London Symposium: a Trip to Peter Shaw's Amazing Collection (1 Viewer)

Thanks to Ed Curiel I have finally learned to post photos, so I am able to bring you gentlemen along on the excursion Clive, Ed Curiel, Howard Woods and his lovely wife Jenny and I took to see the incredible, scratch built collection of Peter Shaw, at his magnificent 1620 Tudor home.

Here is a photo of Ed in front of a 1:6 scale Railroad Gun Mr. Shaw built:

Lest I give you the impression that everything Mr. Shaw built was 1:6 scale, here is a photo of a 1:30 scale bridge he built with scratch built train cars on which ride 1:30 scale vehicles:

How about a 1:16 scale enormous Railroad Gun, again scratchbuilt by the talented Mr. Shaw:

What a fantastic time you spent in the UK! I`ve been watching all the pictures of the Show and trips and I must say that I`m happy to see how fun it was and that this is one journey I really felt I missed...:redface2: But then when I thought my amazement has reached its zenith, I see these pictures! Wow! Mr. Shaw is beyond talented, he`s a master! :salute::{bravo}}

The field kitchen in this winter scene is a conversion from a Figarti horsedrawn limber, Clive said Peter sent him photos of the conversion within 2 days of receiving the model:

This is a 1:30 scale German Train Yard Mr. Shaw scratch built, including virtually all of the train cars (there are a few converted Figarti mixed in), and he showed us a second Train Yard under construction from which he plans to create a "Kelly's Heroes" diorama:

I cannot emphasize enough what a true gentleman Peter Shaw is: in addition to welcoming us into his home to view his magnificent collection, his lovely wife had made tea and a luncheon for us, and, while entertaining Howard's lovely wife Jenny, gave her a lovely porcelain plate of a type Jenny collected. An autographed flyer of many of his 1:6 scale creations will be framed and hung in my collection.:smile2:

I thought I would also post some photos of Peter Shaw's historic home, built circa 1620.

Unfortunately, as it was pouring that day, I only took one photo of the outside, just to show the roof, made of local stone:
