When I was at the 2012 Chicago Show, I was going from room to room looking to see what retired Trophy and King & Country I might find. In one room I espied the monochromatic K & C green box (before they changed it to a more colorful color pattern) but instead of finding a K & C set it contained a Trophy Crimean set of the Charge of the Light Brigade at a ridiculously low price.

I wasn't planning on collecting this range but because the price was too good to pass up (I could sell it on eBay if I had no further interest, as I already had several K & C Charge of the Light Brigade figures), I purchased it and one thing has led to another :smile2:

I will try to post each day Crimean sets I have purchased or acquired through trade but here's the one that started me on the road to perdition ^&cool

CWS 9 At the Guns 2. A Mounted Trooper of the 17th Lancers is Almost Upon a Fleeing Russian Gunner, Whilst Another Russian Tries to Unsaddle Him with His Ramrod

I didn't purchase anymore for quite a long time, having been distracted by other toy soldier interests, and so forth, and was contemplating selling CWS 9.

Then, I saw that Raymond (glossman) was selling a figure whose problem was the Trophy box description didn't match the figure, or vice versa. It was supposed to be CWS 12D (17th Light Dragoons Officer with Sword) but it was more a trooper than officer.

I won the auction but Raymond -- being the true gentlemen that he is -- wouldn't accept any money for it. Thanks again Raymond ^&cool

CWS 12A. Trooper 17th Light Dragoons (Lancers) on a Galloping Horse with Lance in the 'Front Parry and Point' Position.

I defer to Martyn whether this is the correct description.

The appetite had now been whetted {eek3}

Brad,

Thank you again for your kind words. It was my pleasure.

As for CWS08 and CWS10, I hope you can acquire these 2 sets to your CWS09 to complete the Trophy "At the Guns" trilogy.

I trust Martyn will not mind if I post one of his excellent photographs of the Trophy trilogy to whet your appetite further.

Raymond :)

Brad, the Crimea is one of my favourite periods of history and so it is nice to see these figures. :salute::

Thanks Jeff. I know it is. I will start posting some figure sets either tonight or tomorrow that I was able to obtain through trades with Martyn.

Correction: Martyn just let me know that it's not CWS 15C but CWS 15B The Rifle Brigade (Green Jackets) (Standing Firing).

Thanks Martyn.

Thanks Jeff and Brian, as well as Louis and Martyn. I have a few more sets to show but not that many. The last two I acquired from Martyn as well as the one I hope to post later today.

Here is the third and last set I acquired from Martyn, CWS 5, Russian Infantry in Spiked Helmets.
