Just wondering if a Treefrogger can direct me to plans for Hougoument that would serve as a construction guide for a model?

Hi Jack,

Are you familiar with the The Waterloo Companion? If might prove useful to you, because it includes scale plans for the estate and color pics of the location today. It also includes blow by blow maps of the fighting. Schematically, it might be that the most useful part of the volume is on page 332, drilling all the way down to the location of storage sheds, and such, and even the type of vegetables that were planted in different sections of the garden.

Hi Jack,

You're certainly very welcome. The author is Mark Adkin, BTW. Let us know where the project leads you.

It will lead where all such plans lead - fun, toy soldiers and money. As long as the first two outweigh the third all will be good!

It is good to see that Jack listens to my suggestions every once in awhile {sm3}, the next thing he will ask about is scale plans for the Ruhr dams.....{sm4}
Wayne.

I cannot help but listen to your suggestions - you yell them at me!

Moe,
Now you have gone and done it ! Jack and Fitzgibbon are probably already thinking about their 1/30 scale vegetable garden. At least the carrots will be useful for feeding the horses.{sm3}

1 to 1 at Brighton shore:)

You should be aware that a 1/30 model of the whole complex would fill a small house or a large shed.

In that case, Nicholas Cameron has done extensive research on the entire complex. He has also built some of it. I would recommend buying the JG South Gate and using the Britains old set of the North Gate and building the rest. Please feel free to email me at petitcaporal24601@gmail.com with any questions.

An excellent 32 scale Hougoumont is available in foam.
You could get a 72 scale from Airfix to use as your guide.

It's nice, but not quite as good as the JG. It is also NOT the chateau as is often stated. It is only the gardener's house, better known as the South Gate.
