Any news or whispers about some new TTSD WWII sets?
What sets would you realistically like to see TTSD do?
For me:

GERMAN INF (WINTER WHITE CAMOUFLAGE) -8

GERMAN PARATROOPERS (Monti Casino)-8

COMMONWEALTH JUNGLE TROOPS - First Issue (Australian Heads) then (Indian Heads)

For above, same bodies just switch heads and change plastic color appropriately.

Peg on the body, glue the chosen head in it. I belive that they are doing THAT with the new ANCIENT GREEKS.

More Russians, Italians in the vein of Airfix, Finns, French (Pegasus should do their WWII 1/72 French in 1/32)

I like the idea of the "changeable" heads for the jungle troops. TSSD did a few of those with their last cavalry set.

Being a "GI freak" I would like to see more US infantry in cold weather gear. If this were to go down I'd like to see them use the helmets based on their first set of GIs - the existing "fire support" set has helmets that are closer in profile to German paratrooper helmets than US M1 steel pots. More Marines would be nice. Can't go too wrong with more "Ardennes" Germans either.

I wish someone would produce some parts for those of us who convert figures. Some extra heads in ACW kepis, US steel helmets, German M35 helmets, German M43 field caps, or US steel helmets with camo covers (ala later US Marines) plus assortments of hands. Thiese wouldn't be worth producing in mass-production injection molding, but resin would be fine for this sort of project. Hopefully scaled to the Conte/TSSD figures.

I realize that they would be of limited interest, but some Afican-American heads for either the Cavalry or WW2 figures wouls also be a neat accessory.

For quite a while I've thought a German motorbike recon detachment would be a good idea, with a couple of the sidecars too and a few recon troops doing their specific thing. I have a suspicion Warrior might have investigated doing this himself at one point? In fact, did one of the Italian makers end up having a go?

Another suggestion I had, pretty much since I got into the hobby in the late 1990s, was for a proper US halftrack. Ever since I got hold of the Airfix Hanomag (251), I've wanted something US in the same style. I even wrote to Airfix back then suggesting they do it. They should've taken my advice as they'd have cleaned up before the likes of 21stC and FOV came on the seen. They both had great stuff, in fact Conte told me he put off doing his own vehicles when he saw what those two companies were doing. It's the one thing I wish I'd been in a position to do myself - it would've sold brilliantly as the hobby moved into its second 'golden age'.

You and the half tracks again?? What is it with you and the half tracks??

TSSD has just announced 2 new poses of WWII figures.
I predict 2 more poses of GERMAN CARVERY figures.

On the TSSD website it they claim to be releasing two new sets this year one being Alamo themed and the other WW2, where did you see about them releasing just two new poses?

If I was them, I'd be doing German paras. A very distinct uniform and not done by anyone (well really only TSSD and Conte... so really only TSSD now) in this larger scale. I would be very interested in a recon set with motor bikes though! These would probably be a bit more expensive to make.

Well, if what you say is true, I am VERY EXCITED!
I hope they make a good choice and fill in a good gap!

A gap is the British army. One set in this scale is the Steve Weston one. I don't think it'd be a seller though. Nick has been quite clear about his needs as a businessman. He can't afford to do the spend and not make his money back. I think German paras, in his TSSD style are a good option.

I appreciate he can only do a couple of new sets each year but I'd love to see add-ons to the Roman range in the near future. He does some excellent playsets and a Cannae one would be awesome. We just need some Cathagians, Numidians, mounted Romans, a Hannibal..... Those Expeditionary Force missile guys would compliment things too!

I'd hope for British Airborne with heavy weapons but I doubt it.
If Nick and Deanna really wanted to do a Punic wars line, I volunteer to help with some excellent reference material for the period. I don't see it happening though. FAR FAR more troops types to draw from and represent than Rome Vs Germans. Only so many enemies for the use of Romans in Segmented Armor. I don't see a Jewish revolt theme going very far. That could be why they didn't go that route. Probably not huge in popularity , and that's a ton of $$$ time and commitment.
Hat and CTS make just enough to expand on for an awesome playset.

Hat and CTS have already done what you could call the ultimate Punic War collection...TSSD could never match that alone!
They would be wise to just stay with Imperial Romans & Barbs.
Maybe they could add a set of Roman Arches {No Segmented Armour} and Artillery....Some more Germans I guess!
Not that I have ventured into these myself just too BIG for me....Like to se TSSD have another crack at ACW.
Sorry no comment on WW2.

Being focused on the US in WW@ I would quickly vote for more winter GIs. I DO agree that there is also room for some more nice British paras - the Red Devils are under represented in plastic. One advantage of British paras is that the uniform didn't change so much during the conflict. The US made a complete change of uniform between the Normandy drops and Market-Garden. Only one regiment was still in M1942 jump uniforms in Holland, so one can't use the Conte paratroopers for Holland, the Ardennes, etc. Still, the only decent plastic US paratroopers were the Conte set and they weren't "top of the line". Some British infantry to go with Weston's wouldn't be bad either, but hopefully the sets would be compatible. It's too bad the German paratroopers from Pegasus were too small, they are under modeled also. More US Marines couldn't hurt.

I'm sorry that the idea of doing limited edition resin "add on" figures didn't work out. I helped Nick with some converted figures but there were problems with the production.

Anyway, it will be nice to see TSSD getting back to their "roots" again.
