A new Konigstiger (2 Viewers)

There has been much talk about Figarti doing a Konigstiger in recent months however, I heard a few days ago that CS are making a new one and this was confirmed to me again today by someone else. Gossip from the collectors or are we about to get inundated with new KT's?? Especially, as another manufacturer is also in the fray to release another one. You know the one I mean really!!!!

Considering the plethora of AFV's yet to be done and, in many cases never done is this a wise choice considering the alleged market being slow and the fact that recent discussions seem to show that people are growing tired of the same items done to death by all manufacturers at the same time. SdKFz 222, Hanomags, Rad's to name a few that everyone did in many variants well, in reality, colours.

I could think of 20 AFV's yet to be touched that surely would attract collectors and keep the hobby fresh and vibrant. For me, a Konigstiger from either CS or .......! would have to be a much better version in style and detail than what has been done before by these companies.

In terms of CS the sturmtiger was a good move never done properly before and here it is so, why the need if the talk is true to keep going over old moulds that have been done???

I did not care for the first CS versions of the Tiger II so I am glad they will do another one....I think we still need to see a really "good one" yet....My guess is that we will soon see a King Tiger with better detail, paint and weathering....Some one will do it right and it will be a good seller.

Don't even joke you know they (some, well one not sure who)) will market it as a 1940 France early prototype Konigstiger that actually fought in one battle against the Oxfordshire and west London cor blimey guvner's battalion 1 regiment 23 who used matilda Humbers and they will be lining the toy soldier shows wanting one!!!!!!

You just know they are going to be like buses... wait for one for ages then they all come at once!! I wonder who will make it Fubar???

I was really excited when TSC first announced their King Tigers; but somthing was wrong with both the Krupp (Porsche) and Henschel turrets. The Krupp turret gun mantlet did not fit as closely to the turret front as it should; a substantal gap was present. The Henschel turret was worse! The rear of the turret was not wide enough. I ended up buying a VS tank 1/24 King Tiger; which was correct in all details and proportions, also the ambush camo pattern is excellent and the colors are correct. The suspension and tracks work as in the real vehicle and all hatches open and close. The larger 68mm figures work perfectly with this model. A photo with TCS and K&C figure is posted in Matte by Mfg. 60mm figures with 1/24 panzers. A Hong Kong company has produced a 1/24 RC King Tiger that is more accurate with more features than any model produced to date from any Toy Soldier companys and at a fraction of the cost.

My favorite model of the King Tiger is the first issue Minichamps in ambush pattern camo. The detail and colors are excellent. The metal tracks are as good as it gets in model armor. The Cando (Dragon) panzer crew work very well with these 1/35 scale models. The other models in the Minichamps line are excellent too. I only wish the qualties of the Minichamps models were replicated in the much higher priced 60mm Toy Soldier models! Should Minichamps ever decide to enter the 1/30 scale market for armor; no other manufacturer could compete; with their current product lines.

Nearly every manufacturer produces a King Tiger, yet only one has ever done a JS II, a much better and useful vehicle. I would have thought that the market for the KT was pretty well saturated but the attraction of German armour, particularly the "big cats", obviously remains undimmed!

To fair don't think a correct 1/30 King tiger been made yet that been worth keeping

The ones made have had some issues but, I would say with a bit of work this was a bit better than the CS versions which after getting a couple were just not right for me. Even with the poor wheels and incorrect barrel this was a my fav at the moment.

Still not sure if Figarti will do one but, would be interesting to see the different versions they would offer. Ambush camo, and a winter washed version for Hungary would be odd's on

A very nice King Tiger Mitch; but the figures are too large. I would rather have the tank too big rather than too small for the figures. I think the First Legion Panzer Kommander would work better. Nice rework, much better than the original. I can never understand why the various manufacturers cannot seem to get the colors correct; with the exception of Figarti! Regartds

Mitch you were correct about TCS making a new King Tiger. The TCS CS00939 was made in 2015 but never released. I purchased one on eBay and I was surprised wen it came in a TCS box. The new TCS KT is the production version and is available in both Normandy and Winter paint, no Zimmerit; both have interior details viewed by removable panels. The damaged track option and one figure come with the set plus removable Schurtzen. Four hatches open; but the rear turret hatch is fixed closed.The details and paint are better than the original versions IMO. I have my Winter version displayed sans Schurtzen; which is neat. Overall a very nice 1/28 scale KT that for some reason was never released. The pieces available on eBay appear to be preproduction samples and only a few are available. $145 each with free shipping from China. The eBay seller Y-Weido is very reliable. Shipping was free via EMS and I received it in 5 days.

I use colored modeling clay to plug unused holes in models. The clay plugs can be easily removed if required. Most art and craft stores have colored clay. The nice thing about this model is the fenders come as an add on; so no difficulty removing them as with the first release models. Plus they can be cut into short sections and applied in different positions.
