what kind of aircraft would be found, on either side, in the air over the battle of the bulge. particularly air craft that would engage air to ground combat.![]()
Hawker Typhoons, P47 Thunderbolts, and P51 Mustangs (collectively referred to as Jaeger-Bombers or Jabo's to the Germans) would have engaged the German forces once the weather cleared. Also in the air over the Bulge would have been C47 Dakotas (Gooneybirds to U.S. forces) dropping supplies to the 101st and other forces beseiged in Bastogne.
Thanks, any german wings?
Im not much of a aircraft expert but would one of these work http://hobbybunker.com/details.cfm?ID=14268&scatID=636

Most of the German air strength was horded for Operation "Bodenplatte" (spelling?). That was the big air strike on Allied forward airfields on New Years 1945. The last big gasp of the Luftwaffe in the west.
FYI there were a number of German air-to-ground operations around Remagen after the 9th Armored seized the Ludendorf Bridge there.

can the wheels fold up. and any one know where i can get a clear stand made
K&C warbirds are meant to be displayed on airfield dioramas with K&C pilots and groundcrew figures. Accordingly they are sculpted with gear down. The gear does not retract. If you want a similar wood aircraft (not quite as detailed or well constructed) but with the gear up, try a regular Philippine producer, like Motion Models: http://www.motionmodels.com/custom.html
Even the custom ones from MM will cost you in the $500 range. The K & C planes come with stands so you can display it on a stand. Have you seen any of the K & C planes? Tim has a few so maybe he will show you.
Ill try MM, but i saw one in box, we didnt want to break it by taking it out. Do you have a link for MM
MM is Motion Models. I gave you a link in my last post.
They will do custom and they will do 1:30. It takes about 6 months for delivery of a custom model. I have a custom P47 Thunderbolt with the gear down, drop tanks and bombs, and it cost me about what a K&C strictly limited warbird costs.
