The new Corsair shown in the latest "Collector" looks good. Hopefully Andy may do a Fleet Air Arm version in due course.

Mastered the "Gull" wing, maybe a STUKA next ^&grin

They made a Corsair years ago (early 2000s) that is very heavy so they must have figured it out then.

When is the going to be released. I'm not getting my Collector's magazines anymore. Ron

Anyone know why there are only 16 victory flags? The period photos of this aircraft all show 20 victory flags. I don't believe this would just be a case of 'earlier' markings because the airplane was specially chosen and marked for the series of publicity photos with Boyington. It was, I believe, only marked with 20 flags. -- Al

Boyington... I never missed the old TV show about the Black Sheep squadron when I was in the first and second grade. Saw it recently and was thoroughly disappointed, but oh, well. Glad to see he and his aircraft will be represented in miniature!

The last quote from his bio is something I've measured men with to this day; "Name a hero and I'll prove he was a bum."

Boyington was a certified character. He actually had a couple of guest-appearences on the tv show, as a senior officer. The actual surviving Black Sheep were not very positive in their opinions and statements about the tv version of their exploits and personalities.:wink2: -- Al

Just reviewed the latest Collector that highlighted this piece. Its definitely on the top of my buy list. This plane was one of the first models I attempted when I was a kid. I can't wait to add it to my airplane collection. I too used to eagerly watch Baa Baa Black Sheep when I was a kid! Saw some clips on Youtube recently...........ouch that show didn't age well! :redface2:
