Hi all, I recently redid a Africa co. Collectors Showcase 88 gun for my First Legion WWII sets, do you all think the First Legion sets look to small for the gun?? I looked over a good number of photos and judging by the height of the soldiers standing with the gun my First Legion guys look pretty close to the real thing, have to say if anything the K&C, CS soldiers look to be to big for the gun, any thoughts...Sammy

I like it!
I think the problem is that over the years we are used to over-sized figures vs AFV/Guns.

Looks waaaay too massive to me.

Looks more like a 15.5 cm or higher cannon to me rather than an 88. Reminds me more of coastal artillery emplacements.

Here is an 88 FLAK in AA role at the Australian War Museum, with manikin showing it size.

Nice job Sammy but I agree with the fellas, it's a bit to big to go with your FL figures.

May be a little to big, but I'll keep her in play until First Legion makes one for us :):)...Sammy

A better choice for an 88 to go with the 60mm First Legion Figures would be the Figarti Flak 36 if you can find one. Another possibilty would be the 21st Century Toys Flak 36/37 88mm. 1/32 scale and highly detailed. A really superb model and available for about $25.00 on Ebay. Tank Museum has them also. The best Flak 36 made to date is the all metal Minichamps model; but it is 1/35 scale so it would not work well with First Legion figures.

Sammy; a Figarti Tricolor Camo Flak 36 with 3 man crew ETG-014 is available on Ebay for $290.00 Buy It Now/Make Offer. Ebay Item number is 331541562816. A perfect match with First legion IMHO!
Also of interest is a neat Britains Flak 36 with 5 man crew in 1/32 model 17246. Diecast Metal issued in 2001. Expensive especially with shipping from England. The Figarti would be the best choice.

Nice finished product mate but way to big for the midgets you collect ^&grin i have a few 88,s here that will go with those tiny fellas.

I was actually wondering how a Forces of Valour 88 would go with FL figures. Sammy, would you or anyone else be able to provide comparison pic's of a FoV 88 with FL figures?

Anything 1/32 would go well with them IMO of course.

I think the Figarti Flak 36 would be the best match with First Legion; plus you get a well done 3 man crew! Figarti artillery is very well done and a true 1/30 scale. I believe Figarti has done more artillery than any other polystone or mixed media manufacturer!

Just wait for the new Britains 88 to come out. That looks amazing and will match in size.
