Well was delayed by two hours getting there but had a great day and met some really lovely people for the first time!

Big thanks to Simon, Rob, Martyn, James, Hoogri, Harrie, Tony Neville, Dave, and Clive at Grey Goose!

Great to put faces to some names and got happy memories and a want to make more appearences next year!

On another note I left James and Simon in the pub to get a taxi to Euston station with 35 minutes until my train. Got half way after about 10 mins in the taxi and then the traffic stopped and the guy said he thought I'd be as well walking the rest of the way, it was just under a mile and if i hurried I'd be fine! MY ARSE!

So there I am sprinting by people asking the route and I finally get there with 5 minutes to spare to discover that all trains past Preston are cancelled!

So now here I am on a train to Manchester to stay with my aunt and uncle whom are going to put me up for the night, and forseable future as apparently the next train up could be Tuesday!

When it rains it most definetly pours!:rolleyes2:

Oh well London Adventure Part 4! Stay tuned!^&grin

Good to meet you Scott :salute::

That traffic was a nightmare, it took us 2 and a half hours to travel 2 miles{eek3}...bloody roadworks. At least you didn't have to go via Leytonstone Tube Station with that nutter on the loose:mad:

Cheers

Martyn:)

Update on the travels: Can't get up to Edinburgh from Manchester Piccadilly so thought about cutting across to Edinburgh then back across to Glasgow, but can't get direct to have to go York, to Edinburgh and then hopefully Glasgow!

Hope everyone got home safe!

Was really nice to finally meet you Scott, very glad you came down :smile2: (hope you get home ok) Was a great day made even better by meeting you and our friends from the US , Europe and of course here in the UK. It was my return to the shows after a very long break and I met so many friends and fellow collectors from across the globe that I can't wait for the next one in April.

It was because of dear Shannon who started this forum all those years back, that all those of us there yesterday got to know each other here and then met up for the first time at the London show some ten years ago. Most of us there yesterday either rarely post or don't post at all here anymore but so many firm friendships have been forged over the years, its these friendships and the laughter and fellowship of the hobby that are celebrated 3 times a year in London. As I say, many have moved on from posting but the social side of this hobby grows stronger by the year with new people joining us in London every year. Scott is the most recent example of this .

Yesterday we raised a glass to our dear friend Alan 'Trooper' who died recently, but it was also a toast to Shannon for starting this forum that led to us forming such a happy band of collectors in London . And for that I know for a fact we are very grateful.

Hope you can make it again next year Scott!:salute::

Great to see every one of you yesterday guys, roll on April!:smile2:

Well said Rob, here, here! You echo my thoughts 100%.

I just wish I could meet more of you but, I am stuck at the tables. Please, when you come to another show come and say hello. Shannon started this forums and both her and Pete were and continue to be a great support for Empire and my efforts. Above All else, Shannon was a great person to whom I feel grateful to.

See you in April hopefully.

Malcolm. :salute::

Hi Malcolm,

Thank you very much!:smile2: I'm very sorry I didn't get chance to say hello yesterday. Hi Rob,

It is lovely isn't it? Glad you had a great day and went home happy. Any nice purchases? I got a few ( all for research darling, no toys here {sm4} ) passed the CO when I unpacked this morning. A few FL Romans and some JJD WW1 bits.

No need to apologise. Had you come by we would probably missed meeting as I was flat out from about 9.45 until 2.30, a great show and, for me personally, very humbling. As I gave said, we area in a great hobby.

Look forward to April but first, have a great Christmas and start of 2016. Our Christmas tradition is to see Christmas in with a drink by the light of a Great War trench lantern as our light source and drink the health of those that gave so much so we were able.

Best wishes,

Malcolm. :salute::

Scott,

This is around Cumbria, taken today. I think this is why your travel plans were poleaxed!

Bring a rib next time {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}

What a weekend!

Malcolm

It is a lovely day mate it really is , don't get me wrong the Internet is a wonderful thing but it sure don't beat meeting up with friends who share your passion for the hobby for a few drinks and a chat.

I came away with some British Commandos which I'm really happy with. Truth is though I could order them all online but it's the social side I get up at silly o'clock for. Hanging out with all the treefroggers , the guys at K&C UK , Clive , David , Andy N, it's a great hobby full of really nice folk from around the globe . What more could you want??:smile2:

I look forward to meeting you in April Malcolm:salute::

Nice Christmas tradition you have there

Best
Rob
