Absolutely looks great!!! said that in my first post, what will you do with this beauty Tom?? ebay, or is it a keeper??...Sammy

Hi Sammy,
I have not decided yet, but thanks for your question. I will contact you first.

Seriously to put up with some of the posts. GOOD LORD. All I did was locate an item as I was cleaning out from a collection bought long ago and didn't know what it was other than it was an HB Panther. SO, posted a pic, get an initial reply from the person who made it, then continue to get expert advice with a personal bent to it. Go figure I would need a drink. Seriously there are some times where I would rather get arthritis from lack of keyboard activity than post here.

You started a thread asking for help ID'ing a tank and then get upset when people respond with their opinions of what it is? That's absurd. If you just wanted Anna's help but no one elses why start the thread?

As for what it is, it pretty clearly looks to be a repaint of an HB Soviet Panther. The smudge marks on the turret side and angle are where the large white insignia were. It has the engine screens and side tracks minus jerry cans/helmets on the side of the hull. The turret only being repainted makes sense too since the hull of the model was in German colors.

Maybe HB did so this as a custom, but their work was usually much better than the tank pictured and I find it difficult to swallow that HB would not be able to match their own paint colors between hull and turret.

Anna answered the question. What more is there to say? Everything else is mere conversation.

Thanks for your expert opinion, it means a lot. Again I will repeat, Ana is honour bound and is the manufacturer who responded and this was her initial thoughts. If all of you on here can draw such detailed reviews from Lo res pictures in bad lighting, I am thoroughly impressed. If she is right in that they did produce it, feel free to contact her with your critiques. I personally don't care as again I bought a collection of hi end pieces a number of years ago and this was part of it.

Why this board generates such authoritative rhetoric in every thread is beyond me. As another aside, manufacturers do a lot of special commissions that are not common knowledge. So as to how many honour bound has done, only Ana would know that, I don't and have no interest to speculate.

Tom

You asked for it. I do not see any response from Ana and according to you she thinks it may have been but, has not stated categorically it is from them. Hunter Rose and Phantom warrior all came in with the same reply and opinion yet, you choose to respond to mine. Perhaps this was a case of trying to self promote for the highest price possible but, I would not buy that as I think the work is sub standard and, if it was HB they would have gotten the divisional emblem correct and not left residue and an awful stain and mess behind doing it.

I said when you asked for opinions not the quality seen from HB. I would certainly not buy it on possibly done by HB as a special commission and clearly not seen. hopefully nobody else will pay silly prices because the quality is not available to be seen in these very adequate pictures

Thanks for highlighting my post and allowing me the opportunity to reply

If you look at the chronology, Julie responded after I posted to which I then posted that reply. What is irritating is the innuendo moreso from one particular poster who has since posted again. But by all means I see you are an expert too and you make that elite list.

By the way good luck on your continued search for a gold tiger. Your helpfulness will make people who have one all the more willing to sell to you.

Let's get one thing particularly clear, I would not ever sell you anything solely based on your attitude in every post you make. Furthermore, I do not have any immediate plans to sell, nor has this post ever been about that. If it was for sale, it would have been posted on eBay. And if you want to insult my integrity regarding what Ana said, Again, that is what was relayed to me through Julie of treefrog, do you feel the need to insult her too?

When you have a minute, can you pls post your eBay Id so that I can make sure you never accidentally bid on any of my items in the future, it would be greatly appreciated? Feel free to pm me.

I am unsure what you are on about. You stated in your post Ana believed it may have been one of her items but, would have to check. Therefore it is not a fact and as yet not proven either way. That was your post from whoever supplied you that information. Now, how that affects or insults your integrity or, whoever the Julie is you mention must surely be in your head alone.

I would not want to buy it as it looks poor as I mentioned so the rest is not even relevant. You asked for replies you got them but, you take offence to one highlight issue not there to further develop your point. On an open forum when you ask for opinions you must expect them to not be what your after. I again state three members here including myself stated exactly the same thing so, I would imagine that three members should have got this reply.

Thanks again

Hmm, the sentence structure and syntax of the prior post is very familiar :wink2:

3 members - terry is a good friend on the forum who I converse with periodically, so let's remove him from your gang of 3, he is the phantom warrior and we have conversed on this issue too. That leaves two expert opinions.

Now, my reply to you was direct and to the point and in all seriousness, pls pm your eBay id as I would like to make sure there is zero chance for any future sales mistake. I don't really care what your thoughts are on this piece as that is irrelevant as it is not for sale. What I originally asked for is if anyone knew what this piece was prior to Julie's post. FYI, Julie is part of treefrog who owns this board and was honor bounds main sales agent since you were not able to make that connection with your expert insight. The question was never about historical accuracy or quality it was about origin of this particular piece.

Further I don't give a rat's behind regarding any quality opinion you have after your previous scale and figarti discussions as they are meaningless to me and that IMO. I am a very black and white type of guy, pls let me know if I have left anything unclear here.

Can someone who is better on this board than I pm me instructions on how to use the ignore function?

Thnx

Never answers questions, casts aspersions and makes unkind comments; who could that be?

Recap of this Thread:

"Hey guys can I get some help identifying this Honour Bound tank."

(people respond and offer their opinions of what the tank is)

"Hey you bunch of jerks, how dare you try and give me your opinion on what this tank is."

And I guess I am an elite expert, since I'm the one who gave you the correct answer to your question. But you can choose to ignore it if you will, no skin off my nose.

Obviously I wasn't clear. There are only 2 on the list. As you say no skin, just keep looking for your gold tiger......

Thanks for the positive encouragement chief, I'll keep at it! :salute::

Good luck to you in the continued hawking of your wares. Cheers.

I have seen three Honor Bound Gold Tigers on Ebay in the last five years. All went for over $1200.00 at auction!

Money talks bs walks in your case. In the world of gold tigers, you gotta pay to play. That's why they are called gold

As for hawking my wares, that is part of the fun for me as well as the thrill of the hunt. Risk vs reward is how I live.

Seven 'likes' for an observation about syntax. You normally do not see that level of interest in language!
