Just got notified that Blue and Grey Magazine is shutting down after 30 years. As a battlefield tramper I really enjoyed the Generals tours. The website will continue. Buy the back issues while you can.

Bummer. -- Al

Do you read Civil War Monitor. That's a very good magazine.

Yeah. It is sad. Seen some good publishers stop. Butternut and Blue stopped about 2 years ago and they produced some outstanding books. Really liked their AOP series. Morningside has virtually stopped although I see them at the shows still. They did some outstanding reprints like Bates History of the Pennsylvania volunteers. 14 volume set and well worth it. Still have it after 20 plus years

Surprised to hear Morningside still around. I thought that the stock had all been sold off after Bob Younger passed on. The loss of Morningside was a true blow to ACW publishing. Their reprints were of high quality and absolutely invaluable to the ACW reader/collector who couldn't afford hundreds or thousands of dollars for original publications. -- Al

Morningside is a shadow of the days of Bob YOunger. Bought some BUtternut and Blue titles last yr before the remaining inventory transferred to a buyer. Bad news regarding Blue & Grey. :redface2: Not a good trend in the ACW publishing world. Chris

Dudes, check out the Civil War Monitor. It has writing from who's who in the Civil War field. Only journal worth reading.

Yeah I always liked the regimental reprints. My favorite is Crafts history of the 141st Pa. Sad to see them go.

Brad, I went to the mags website. Found it very interesting, with articles on many subjects, photo essays, and, my favorite, pages of book reviews. Thanks for the suggestion. -- Al
