What is overpriced for one is not for another. For instance, I would never buy the StuGs (FoB or AK) as I find them overpriced. Useless to say that I have little interest, if any, in tanks. Accordingly, I can understand that you find the new warbirds expensive 'cause your lack of interest.

You are 100% correct Pierre I would not buy them if they were just say $200.I prefer ground forces and will always be this way.I will not comment on K&C planes again as I agree with you my opion will always be the same .800 dollars your kidding me.

No it isn't a K & C name, the term "war bird" has been used by Airshow fans etc for some time and is used to describe aircraft that operated in conflicts, especially WWII.

Well i must be in no mans land here then!.Because although i love WW2 Aircraft i just couldn't justify shelling out that much wonga for a plane.But maybe thats just cos i love Tanks and infantry.Four hundred big ones would by 'a whole lotta Arnhem' (Hey wasn't that a song by AC/DC,oh no that was 'Rosie',superb guitar break )Anyhoo,my hook is i never sell my K&C so my collecting is pure pleasure.So for me its not worth investing.However when i do finally shuffle off this mortal coil my wife can have a Bonanza selling all my stuff,god bless her.

My thoughts entirely Rob. We all have to make compromises one way or another, and one of mine is that there's no way I can justify that kind of money for a model aeroplane. As it was, the receipt for my Figarti Dick Rossi P40B was kept well hidden when it arrived, I'll tell you. By the same token, if others can justify the price and they really want a warbird, then why not? Its their money, not mine.

Hello Louis how are you going.I have not held one of the new planes in my hands just seen the pictures.Maybe if I had a warm fuzzy filling would come over me and I might have to buy one.I have seen and held the old ones with the painted glass and got no feeling at all.They are rubbish in my eyes and I would not touch them.But I will take you word for it that the new ones are the best in the world as I read all the post you write and you seem to no what your saying.Keep buying them over priced planes and I will keep reading your posts.

I started buying K&C back in 1993, and I paid around $150 for the planes then, and $14 for single figures, and $150 for the early primative wood tanks. Believe me, I prefer a bargain, and I have never sold a single item in my collection, so the appreciation that comes from "strictly limited" production is not what I'm in it for, I'm in it to collect what I love. I happen to love the K&C warbirds (along with most of their other products), so indeed I will keep buying them. But, just for the record, those old warbirds with the painted glass that you refer to as "rubbish", I could sell if I chose for many times the $150 I paid for them, so maybe my buying what I lvoed wasn't such a bad financial decision either.

I'd love to buy a plane.....the Waco Glider! I dont get it...KC produces wonderful new glider infantry and then decides to go back into the plane business but no glider? Seems to me a missed opportunity for cross product selling...planes and figures as one! Then what if I was holding my new Waco and fell in love with the planes too.....oh boy! I'd shell out hundreds for a Waco.

You are right Louis.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.I married a very beautiful women many years ago and I will never sell her either.She has cost me over the years hundreds of thousands of dollars .All of my mates would gladley pay Three times the amount of money I have spent on her if only they could find a bargin like her.I was wrong to call these planes rubbish and I won"t do it again.I would love to see a photo of the wooden tanks you say you have.I have always said money is a tool for happiness so spread it around even on wooden planes.
