Hello,
Whilst I like the Celts and Aztecs, I wish John would look at doing Saxons/Vikings/Normans. That is one era that I think he could do well. No disrespect to other manufacturers, but I think John would put a jolly good show on! Hastings, Stamford Bridge.....

........... and Fulford :)

He did make a Viking or Saxon figure. It’s nice. While I would like to see these as well, He does so many ranges now and he is only one person.

Figures like Alfred, William the Conqueror, etc. would be interesting but how much can John make or collectors collect?

I have asked him several times over the years for this...I would jump on his Viking in a second...a long ship too...

I've got a stack of Vikings but would not hesitate in going into another series especially with a manufacturer like John Jenkins. You would just know the product would be excellent. Companies like Britains just did not develop the series enough and who knows what's happening there. A part of history that could go on for a considerable amount of time if the right maker were to take it on. Regards Sapper.

I'm fully in on the new Ancient's and Conquest of America series, and believe they have the potential to be quite extensive. I'd hate to see John spread his talents too thin, and could happily wait a couple of years before seeing another new series. That being said, I do think the Dark Ages would be a wonderful period for him to take on.

Gotta admit, as expensive as it would be, JJD would be the one to make the Viking long boat with his previous work like the whaleboat and Quebec landing barge to his credit. That would be a spectacular model. -- Al

I agree a JJ longship would be interesting but a Viking series seems like it could be a path too much travelled already by other manufacturers. It's not my area of interest at all but I did wonder if the Mongols could be a future as yet untapped series. I know John likes a bit of colour.

As a Viking decendant myself, I would buy any 1066 figure, John would do :)

I agree.
I would love to see John produce a Battle of Hastings series.
His recent creations are on another level and his facial sculpting and dynamic poses add true realism.

A favorite image of Hastings 1066 by Tom Lovell for National Geo. some years ago.
John would do a wonderful job portraying this in miniatures.

Can't go wrong w/ these suggestions for JJD. I have the Mike Miller berzerker and he's really lonely!

Joe

many...many years ago...I stumbled across a Russian style set...of a lone giant Norseman Berserker...just standing there...on a narrow bridge...wielding an axe in each hand...while blocking passage on the Stamford Bridge...it was a connoisseur style set...absolutely beautifully sculpted and painted...they had 6-8 dead Saxons lying on the ground...the Norseman had a few arrows in his legs...thighs and chest...but he stood defiant...daring the Saxons to try and pass him...I sent a picture of the set to both John Jenkins and Richard Conte...hoping one of them might make it...but nothing ever happened...John was waist deep in the FIW...and Richard...well...I dunno...it just never happened...I lost the image...searched for it til I was exhausted and finally gave up on ever finding it again...never knew the manufacturer...

but would love a set of that Viking on a bridge holding of a group of Englishmen...

But you're biased Mike! Hahaha...I have the 'Mike Miller' Berserker! Great figure....Just needs a golf club!

Pete

I don't think its spreading his talents too far...According to John, it takes about two years to launch a series from conception to release. I'll dream on though!!

Pete...hahaha...maybe I am a little biased...but I think John made the figure of me...as a Viking...just because I bugged him so much about doing a Viking series...you know...get me off his back a bit...^&grin...

the truth is...John is just to nice to give a flat out "No"...he never ever once told me "no" when I made suggestions...
he always said he would put my idea on his list...

so like you said...maybe in a year or two...who knows....I think he would knock a longship out of the water...I would definitely buy one...that would make an awesome shelf display...

I researched Viking ships long an hard a few times...bought this one last week but returned it as it was too small for 60mm...it was awesome...just too small...

it's an open market...no other manufacturer is actively pursuing it...

Not a new series, but I would like a winter Jag crew.

I also thought the Border Reivers were a potential subject far off the beaten track too plus they would give an opportunity for a JJ super structure to compliment any figures in the form of a Peel Tower.

At one point in their history they didn't look too dissimilar to the Conquistadors!
