We have just released three musketeers from No 34 Regiment of the Prussian Army in The Seven Years War

These figures compliment Britains Redcoats in size and style.

The first three figures are;
Standing firing
Bringing musket down into the aim
Bringing musket down bandaged head.

The reloading and high port figures will be ready very soon.

The figures are £24.50 each.

Can you please post some images of these figures, I'd love to see them.

Very nice, though above my price range. Are these white metal or resin? I don't imagine you sell them as castings, do you, for those of us who paint our own?

From your website, I see that Martin Tabony is part of the team.

Just remember, when it comes time to make officers, that they did not wear moustaches, except for officers of the hussars. So many manufacturers get that wrong. And grenadiers didn't carry colors, only the musketeer companies did. That's another detail that some manufacturers have gotten wrong.

Prost!

Very well done. Anymore, when I see glossy figures of this caliber I almost wish I had started my TS collection with glossies versus matte figures. These are beautiful.

Yeah, the sculpts are excellent! Bruce notes that they will fit very well with Britain's Redcoats series, and I can see that, in the style of the sculpts.

Prost!

I've just been inspecting the finer details on the painting, and I find this:

  • Buttons should be white metal, not brass.

  • Pom pom on hat should be white blue, white and red centre.

  • Buttons on gaiters should be pewter.

  • Sword knot should be red with blue end on a white strap

All the rest looks correct, right down to the Swedish cuffs with 2 buttons :)

I really like these. I admittedly feel neglected by Britain’s on the glossy side of our hobby and appreciate Bruce’s attention.

Yes, I wondered how far he'll carry this series. It would be nice to have some other arms, like cavalry. Are the cavalry in the background in your photos also from Ready4Action, Andreas? I saw hussars in the one photo, and some cuirassiers in another.

Also, it'd be nice to see some subjects from some of the other countries involved in the Seven Years War, eventually.

Prost!

Brad, I am just picking up info and photos from the owner’s FB page. I think this is where we are:

“The first three figures are:
Standing firing
Bringing musket down into the aim
Bringing musket down with bandaged head.”

“The next two are Reload and at rest. These poses can make up your third rank.”

“NCO and flag bearers soon! “

These figures are available from Ready4Action at £24.50 each.

As to the cavalry, I think Bruce said they started out as DEL PRADO.

Yes, I'd also like to see cavalry and di notice those others you mentioned in the images.

Yes, other countries would be most welcome, in particular the Austrians who were a major adversary to the Prussians in Europe of that era.
British and French are available, and Prussians, but some head exchanges can also make Prussian Fusiliers or Grenadiers, much like Hat did with with their plastics.

Looking forward to seeing more of these, but I'd want them to be available as castings so that I can paint mine with a matte finish, not glossy, like these I have painted by Ulrich Puchala.

Hmm...I had found a Ready4Action page, "Ready4Action Miniatures", but I couldn't find these photos there. The last post on the page was from March. I tried to find a page for Bruce, but I don't think I found the right one. In any case, I look forward to more photos and info about this new series.

Prost!

On FB search for Bruce Murray or alternatively William Britain Toy Soldier Collectors - he just posted some comparison pics with WB glossys

Bruce Murray-many thanks, Gazza! I can take a look this evening.

On the R4A page, he uses a different last name. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was in the email listed on the page. And it might even be a nickname. In any case, searching for that name turned up a couple of pages, but none was the right one.

And I think I'm in the William Britain group, but Facebook's algorithms aren't putting things from that group in my newsfeed. It really is a pain, the way they decide what and what not to show.

Prost!

Thanks, Gazza! That's pretty close; even where any given R4D figure is a little taller than the Britain's figure, its proportions are similar enough, that they look like they are in a natural group of men, and could have come from the same hand.

Prost!

thanks for that

Thanks for all the interest.

I have added a page to the website https://www.r4a.info/seven-years-war-gloss-1-32/

The first of the figures are on there now.

Grenadiers will follow once back from castings.

I may sell castings but I'm not sure yet.

The plan is to release Musketeers, Grenadiers and Fusiliers first for the Prussians in a couple of regiments. Also the Pomeranian Frei Grenadiers (I just love the uniform).

Other nationalities are planned such as Swedes, Russians, French, British.

The figures are sculpted by Ernst Veingart with additional parts by me.

They fit well with Britains Redcoats in my opinion. I wanted them to compliment them as I'm a huge fan of that range.

There might even be some figures to mark next years 275 anniversary of a well known battle. I'm working on a personality figure for that at the moment.
