are K&C WWII troops heavy-footed (1 Viewer)

The patriot guys are fitter, jumping walls and running about so they are leaner in the face than the K&C layabouts :D:D


This issue came up with Collector's Showcase also where head size was seen to be too skinny (a couple of them did look a bit anorexic) and using some designing software it was calculated that the K&C heads were 30% bigger as regards proportion to the rest of the body, so it may be that we are used to and like the bigger styled heads.

I have the French Resistantance With Two 101st Airborne & 82nd Airborne , rommel and a few napolenic Patriot Models , the only one out of them whose head I would like a bit bigger is the figure with rifle raised in 82nd Airborne.
 
I think K&C figures look quite comical in a sense, that maybe because of Andy's inspired by his comic books.

On the other hand, even though I agree that K&C figures are currently top notch comparing to other companies, I think we still need to give some feedback in order to have improved design in the future

Especially now that the prices for each figures are rising steeply (because of rising salaries, price for raw material, logistics etc), we should demand for better thoughts, creativity and ideas in figure design!

:confused: Now that's an interesting comment. Pray, do expand your analysis, as I must have missed the two red spots on each cheek, the enormous slippers and the rictus clowns grin on K&C figures. Or am I reading YET another moan for the sake of moaning concerning K&C figures.

When you say that the figures are substandard and comical, you sort of lose credibility.

Feedback is always important. With respect to prices, some of that is tied to the increase in raw materials and labor. Whether or not prices go up, I believe K & C values feedback, constructive feedback.

Whow! That's getting personal man! Do you usually give judgemental comments to forum members?

I mean comical in the sense that they've puffy heads, thick torsos and generally lack the rugged looks in patriot, Collectors showcase and others (Pegasus, Tamiya)...

And I don't regard 'comical' has any negative connotation. I still like K&C or frontline styles better than other companies.
 
Maybe we should change the name of this thread. How about Are K and C Troops big headed.

Hi oberstoskar, I'm sure there are a number of members that will agree with you that the K & C figures are rather chunky etc. Sadly there are still a number of members that get upset when people make suggestive comments about K & C items and feel the need to bag the person making them rather than having a rethink themselves. Maybe Andy has put something in their whisky at some stage ;) :D

I didn't mean anything personal with my post; that was far from my intentions. If you took offense, you have my apologies.

However, I don't believe you can (or should) overgeneralize as you did (although that is your prerogative). When you do, people might not take your opinion as seriously as they may otherwise have.

We all have certain sets or poses we don't like and there is nothing wrong with pointing fault in those instances when you think criticism is merited.
 
K & C figures are very good overall but as with their vehicles there is still room for improvement. I complained about the eye detail on some of their horses and note that on occassions the horse figures still get the almond shaped white eye treatment when a round brown eye with black pupil is more realistic. And no brown eye jokes please, we've heard them all before :)

I guess some members will think this is nitpicking but it really bugs me to see the wrong eye color (white) being made so obvious. The LAH horse, although not exact, is much better than most.
 
Och, for just a moment I thought I'd misread this post.

Haven't met anyone from K&C in person so I can't say. Seem pretty level headed guys to me though :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Very interesting, never really noticed that so much, I think you are right about the head sizes of K&C. more confused than ever, also don't understand why smaller size is more noticable to me than larger size?

I agree with this as well...even the Napoleonic line has the same issues...despite being in linformation more character and action is were K&C fall down as far as I'm concerned.

It seems to me that guys into the traditional gloss soldiers are more likely to like the action poses.
