Since Chris has shared his wonderful Conte Ship - I was wondering how many members collect K&C Romans (as well as Conte and others...)

I have a nice collection of both Old and New K&C Romans - as well as the K&C Arch :D

What about the rest of you ??

I am still relatively new to all of this so I currently only do WW2. I did however find most of the pieces to the Roman Castle and currently have Germans in front of it, but I was planning an addition of some Romans at some point.

I have the Roman Castle but no Romans. I display the castle with Crusaders and Saracens.

I have both the 4 piece wood and paper mache Roman Fort and the 8 piece polystone Roman fort, the polystone triumphal arch, and I have Romans from the 1987 glossy release, the 1999 first matt release (including the catapult set) and the 2003 later roman release, as well as some Celts to fight them.

So just a few then....:D;)

Apart from the roads, education, aquaducts, sewerage systems, I agree, what did they ever do for us? :D

If it were not for the Romans, the Brits would be walking around naked in blue dye.......**** them Romans:D

Et tu Simon?

Speaking of Julius Caesar, I read this play a few weeks back and it was marvelous. Never read it before. Spellbinding as a matter of fact. If you've never read, I recommend it but I suggest having a study guide with you to understand everything.

Funny isn't it,a whole generation of us blokes of a certain age have either Python,Fawlty Towers or Blackadder coursing through our veins, its like a rite of passage religion or something:D

Oh and without starting it all over again, the Romans don't do anything for me either.

I think KC's Roman line shows that they aren't the "master of the TS universe" as a lot of us hold them out to be. KC is without a doubt, the master of the WW2 universe but there are eras that are somewhat out of their league and well, the Romans were. I think the fort was just fantastic and the Barbarians were probably the better done of the two series (Romans and Barbs). Just my thoughts though.

I still feel, and I am sure most will agree with me, that money no object, St. Pete is clearly the gold standard of the Romans or ancient world. I haven't seen anything to date that has led me to believe otherwise. I personally am very impressed by East of India's Roman protos that we have seen so far. I am also eagerly anticipating Blackhawks Zama line. I have seen their work on the Custer series and, for the price, I think they have a quality offering.

With Conte's release of this War Galley and their buy one, get one free sale, coupled with EoI's and Blackhawks entried (and KC's for that matter, which are still all readily available), if any of you collectors were holding out for a year to collect Romans, 2008 is it.
