New to the forum. Recently started collecting K&C Redmen and Redcoats series. Planning to create dioramas depicting Rev War up and down the Mohawk River Valley 1778-1780. Just added two new blockhouses from JJD. They fit pretty well with the K&C figures. Included a few pics.

"Once outflanked by the King's 8th Regiment of Foot and their Seneca allies, the 1st New York and local militia retreated to the cover of Putnam's Fort"

Is this supposed to be a hobby or a serious addiction????

Welcome to the Forum Mike. I enjoy the F/I war and the Rev War. Yes, it is an addiction. I called Paul and got some more Redcoats. Do you know the Toy Soldier Shop in Wisc.? I like the JJ, K&C and Redcoats. It is an addiction. Leadmen

I am aware of the Toy Soldier Shoppe in Milwaukee. Don't get over east that much so I have never been at the store. Have taken a look at their web site though. Mostly give my business to Sierra Toys and BGS Toys. Both give free shipping and currently BGS also gives 10% off if orders are placed through their web site.

I saw the JJ blockhouse today in a local shop for the first time. It looks great, but it is a lot smaller than I had guessed from the pictures. The civilian figures are nice as well.

On first inspection, one would think that the JJD blockhouse looks small. However, the typical FIW and RW blockhouses built by the settlers tended to be small. Large blockhouses were found in permanent military posts. On your search engine check out Mansker's Station and Martin's station. Both were Rev War circa stockaded settlements that have been restored. The blockhouses at both stations are small and somewhat crude. I do feel that the door on the JJD blockhouse is a bit small and perhaps not a true 60mm scale as advertised - but then that's me getting picky.
