A few years back I bought a set of 23 x Tradition of London castings of the Kaiser's 1st Garde Regiment Zu Fuss c.1900

They were being offered on Ebay by a US seller, and I was the only bidder for a bargain asking price, that I couldn't pass by.

Now it's time to given a 'lick of paint' and set them up on a parade to be reviewed by Kaiser Bill and his generals, so keep on watching this thread over the coming weeks as I'm painting the figures in batches of 3.

Nice work John. I love some of the extra detail shown on individuals. For example, the medal on the cymbalist.

The medal was part of the sculpt but because all of the figures are individual I wished that there were more medals presented, as well as different moustaches or clean shaven.

Still more to come this coming weeks.

It's a given John they are all individual as they are playing different musical instruments. I agree some facial hair styles and more medals on their uniforms would look grand I looked at the Tradition site and noted the figurines you are working on in question. A wonderful period of beautiful parade uniforms from Germany.

Thanks for putting the band back together on this project. :)

Cheers,

Here are the next 3 figures, all bass players. You can see that the French Horn player has 2 medals, so that is different !!

Hope to get these guys done this weekend,

When these are completed I'll line up the whole band ready for the Kaiser's inspection, hopefully next week???
