This is my display showing man for man two full companies of attacking British soldiers from the American Revolution. A British regiment of the period would have ten of these companies, eight centre companies, one light and one of grenadiers.

Not as many. The American figures’ poses are not as conducive to using multiples sets right beside each other. The new American militia figures are some of Andy’s best work; I have 3 of each pose. I envision the American line will be located in the tree line where the trees will mask the fact that several of the poses are alike. I have toyed with the idea of just repainting the British figures because they do such a great job of showing an entire body of troops doing the same step and formation.

I have great hopes for the forthcoming Hessians. Thank you Andy, I’m hoping and praying that there will enough figures to make-up an attacking formation to support their British allies. I also would like Andy to make some attacking grenadiers, in their bearskin caps. You know those would be good seller.

Very well done sir!!! What a formidable looking line.

I kind of figured that out with the blue shirts as well- I just decided to try and do one rank of kneeling firing colonials and then the standing rank I sprinkled in some of the reloading guys.

Would love to see some in action dragoons though.

Very well done- love seeing the AWI stuff.

Very nice display. Which figures did you use for your rear, I'm guessing here, file closers?

Just checking out some back posts and can I say this is an absolutely amazing display, I can only dream of the day that my collection looks like that.:cool:

Fantastic to see some other peoples AWI collections! :)

Wow what a line!!!  Great show of force.
Now I see why I can't seem to get any of them from the vendors or ebay. You got them all!!!.

The new K&C AWI figures are fantastic. But there is a certain attraction that I have for the "older" figures American AR01 - AR34 and the British BR01 - BR32. I have to start getting some of those before they dry up.

How are you going to display the Americans so they won't take away from that great Brit attack force !??!

Love what you have done so far!

Jolly good show! Very nice, very nice indeed. Your original posting was dated this past February. Have there been any updates/additional progress to your display. If so we would all like to see recent pictures.

Officially, how many men were in a British company and regiment of the period?

Absolutly Fabulous display. That is kind of what I'm going for. However on a slightly smaller scale.
Keep up the good work and good pictures.
O.C.

I was also thinking how cool this would look as a marching column.

This is seriously a museum quality display though!

Thank you for all your kind remarks. I'm complimented to have this older posting being revisited.

I looked in several sources as to actual number of soldiers in a British AWI company. I found references to anywhere from 50 - 56. I chose to go for 51 privates in each company, plus. Each of the British companies included in their count 3 privates that were counted but not present. Their salaries were collected and used as the company fund.

I enjoyed collecting all the necessary figures and hope to add to this display when or if the grenadiers are released.
