    Hi 4th hussar
Oxfordshire Hussars wore standard hussar uniform of dark blue wi9th crimson collar and cuffs. All lace was silver for officers, white for O.R.s. Black busbies with crimson bags laced with white or silver. White out of crimson plumes. Double silver stripe on breeches for officers, double crimson for O.R.s. White pouchbelts for O.R.s, silver with central crimson line for officers. Officer's full dress sabretaches crimson edged silver with silver crown over silver AR reversed and entwined. O.R.s had black sheepskin saddle covers,
officers had a full leopardskin and white out of crimson throat beard. In levee dress officers wore crimson breeches with wide silver stripe and fancy silver Austrian knots on the front of the thighs. The crimson listed here has often been described as "Mantua Purple" but is in fact as stated, crimson. If you would like some illustrations send me your Email address and I shall send you some. Hope this helps. Alan
