A few pics of a diorama I’ve had out for a bit, showcasing First Legion’s NOR091 German Panther Ausf G (Early) tank model, representing a vehicle from the 3rd Co, 12th Pz Regt, 12 SS Hitlerjugend during the Normandy campaign, 1944.

I got my model when it was first released in 2019 and it’s been one of my favorite 1/30 scale armor models ever since and out on display in some fashion continuously for nearly six years. While I know the FL Panther has its inaccuracies, I always felt it was kind of the perfect Panther tank model, looking just the way a Panther should look.

As always Tman fantastic 👏👍👏👍👏👍. Paul

Thanks everyone for the kind comments on this display!

I’m liking the way the JG Miniatures scrub camouflage worked out on my Panther tank (as well as the Stug IV in my other post) and have a few other vehicles I may apply it to. Below is the historical photo I used for reference when applying the camouflage to the Panther:

I know the tank is the star in this one but as usual your figure placement is perfect.

The figure at the front of the line is firing, the panzerschreck is stepping up to find a target and the rest are falling in.

Tristan,

You did a great job applying the foliage camouflage! Ken Osen put this camouflage, made by Honour Bound and Hudson and Allen, on this regular Honour Bound Sherman for me (Honour Bound's foliage camouflage came with the netting to secure the foliage):

Tman, unfortunately I don't have any FL Panther tanks and I don't know if I'll ever be able to get one.
You say that there are some inaccuracies about these models.
Is it possible please to know what they are ?.
I've seen side by side photos with a JJD panther and there is a noticeable size difference concerning the turrets : JJD's is significantly larger than FL.

Mastercom, you made me go back to the original thread on this Panther from 2019 to see what people were saying. While most collectors really liked it (myself included) the great and very knowledgeable Hunter Rose commented on the accuracy of the 12th SS Pz. Div. unit markings on the tank. According to him, they were too large and there wasn’t photographic evidence of 12th SS tanks with markings like what’s shown on this Panther. Valid criticisms for sure, but in the end, they haven’t diminished this model in my opinion… And I’m not sure whether the JJD or FL Panther has the correct sized turret. That would take some measuring, lol
