Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (56 Viewers)

Great stuff, Kevin! Clive gave me one of Monty's M3 Lee tanks (which I believe he commissioned) because he knew I would never buy anything associated with Montgomery! lol
Now then Louis, don't be shy - I know you were a real fan of Monty. Although someone recently posted that he would not have stopped Rommel in Egypt if Patton hadn't have been there. Rommel was in retreat before Patton even landed.

One of his 'friends' did write that Monty was as quick as a ferret (and about as likeable). Patton was a bit of a character wasn't he? Wonder how well they both would have got on nowadays .......

I guess winning battles was the important thing then - lets hope it still counts.

I couldn't stand either of them. A pair of egotistical prats whose self-aggrandizement far exceeded their skills as military leaders. Without air supremacy, Bletchly Park and logistical superiority Rommell (and pretty much any other German commander) would have eaten them both alive.

However, Eisenhower seemed to have been very effective.
