Oklahoma cannot beat Texas in the Red River shoot out.

And in other news, the sun came up this morning.

Good for Texas, they won a game they always win.

See here's the thing; I've been a Sooners fan since I was a little kid and saw them run the wishbone vs Arkansas in the Orange Bowl one year, love their uniforms and their fight song, best in the country. Well, it's either 1 or 1A, Michigan's rocks too.

If they win, great, if they don't, I'm not going to hang myself, I did not go to OU, other than being a casual fan, I have no dog in the fight, just like I also root for Alabama and Michigan.

Again, I did not attend either school; your kid went to Texas, so now you're a diehard Longhorn fan................good for you, it's nice to have a hobby other than collecting toy soldiers.

Getting into the playoffs with 2 losses is going to be a tough task and that's assuming they run the table, which includes beating Georgia in Georgia and the current #4 ranked team, Texas A & M.

Best of luck with that.

You have a **** ton of teams in front of you that have to lose twice in order for you to pass them in the standings.

Again, best of luck with that.

I don't live and die by Texas, but beating the rival is always a season highlight. I also vehemently dislike Venables, I think he is a fake and fraud in the personality department, maybe a lot of them are, but he doesn't hide it well and I don't think he is a good head coach. Defensive tactician, have to give him that, leader, no. I could probably as I have argued the same thing about Sark, still not sold on him as a complete head coach. As I have said before, you hire coordinators for a reason, so that you can be a leader and manage all sides of the game.

They may not make the playoffs, but at least if they improve, it is a much more enjoyable ride through the rest of the season as they will be competitive. The way they were going, they were not going to be competitive, the Florida game was a complete underwhelming performance in all aspects of the game and it was against Florida, that was the worst part of the loss.

Maybe Texas has less pressure now and they will play looser like on Saturday. They have a tough schedule, but at this point, they are not expected to win against the teams. That said, as I said before, right now, every team other than Ohio State looks shaky week to week.

It's only a rivalry if the other team wins once and awhile, much like the Red Sox/Yankees "rivalry" for 86 years was as one sided as it can get, the Yankees ALWAYS beat the Red Sox, time and time again.

Beyond comical how OU tumbled 8 spots/out of the top 12 after one loss; guess the committee thinks they don't belong in the playoffs, in truth they don't.

Are Miami, Indiana, Ole Miss and Texas A&M for real? We'll find out soon enough.

It would be great to see one of these vaunted championship programs produce a Super Bowl winning QB.

The NFL is the next step in football yet all of these great, dominant “schools” have nothing to show for it when it comes to the most important position in their respective sport.

Ohio State is probably going to win the championship this year with another QB that is not going to do anything in the NFL.

If Arch Manning is the answer, I don't want to know what the question is.

A complete stuff riding his family name, his Father puts the Hay in Hayseed too BTW, looks like a cast member of Hee Haw, Dukes of Hazzard or Mayberry RFD.

With the way the NFL game has changed over the years (it's all about passing/scoring) and college is the same way, you'd think these QB's would be NFL ready, but they are not, 99% of them wash out after a few years, we're talking high first round picks.

Looks like the Patriots found themselves a gem; gee, what a shame for the rest of the NFL, after stumbling and bumbling for 6 years after Shady Brady left, they are back to respectability, they're not winning a SB anytime soon as long as twinkle toes is in KC and getting help from the refs to keep running it back to the Super Bowl, but at least they no longer stink/are boring to watch, as a fan, that's all you can ask.

Hmmm. I believe 3 of the last 4 Super Bowl winning QBs are of SEC / Championship heritage.

Here are the last 10 Super Bowl winning starting quarterbacks and their colleges, starting with the most recent:

Watched the Texas-Kentucky game only because it was a local home game for UK. Arch Manning has been universally panned in the media for his performance. TX only scored a TD because of a kick return to the UK 5 yd line and had a total of 8 first downs. Still TX managed to squeak by in a 3 point win in OT against a terrible, last in the SEC, UK team.

Texas ranks 64th out of 136 FBS in team passing efficiency, 77th in passing offense (218.7 yards per game), 79th in scoring offense (26.7 points per game) and 92nd in red zone offense (80 percent conversion rate).

And the comical part is they will move up in the rankings; after that ****show of a performance, they should drop out of the top 25, but they won't.

In OT on 4th down, just take the 3 points and hand it over to your defense to stop Texas like they had done all game long, but nope, they run up the middle and get nothing.
