I've recently decided to collect some of the figure sets from the JJD Anglo-Zulu War, Battle of Gingindhlovu. I have a number of sets on order but not delivered yet. In the meantime I have freed up a 36-inch shelf and have been getting it ready for the new figures. The shelf depth is approximately 14.5 inches and its height is just over 9 inches. The backdrop is from a 36-inch x 24-inch poster of a South African savannah. I used modge-podge to mount it on an MDF panel and then trimmed it to size. The base is made of .25 inch Wafer board, primed, painted, and covwred with Woodland Scenics 'Earth Blend" fine turf. Now all that is needed are some Zulu warriors and British troops. That's the next phase.
