If you look at a map, that’s not really doable. The countries that need the oil are in Asia. That means that if the oil is coming from Kuwait you have to build a line that goes through Iraq, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Pakistani to get to the Arabian Sea and that assumes that Pakistani has the port facilities to handle oil.
 
If the blockade is intended to stop Iran's oil trade, I don't know why they waited so long. It seems like that might have been something done even before this conflict to put pressure on them. Given that Iran is apparently still threatening ships in the straits, I'm not exactly sure whose ships are getting through.

Block the strait, prevent their ships from getting out and destroy their economy.

Then we'll see if they change their tune about ending the war.
 
I do wonder how China is going to respond when he stops a tanker full of oil that they paid for not allowing it to pass...

I saw where he is planning on imposing a 50% tariff increase on any country that sells arms to Iran...which China is suspect of currently...

I think Porter will make an excellent Governor, if nothing else, she will continue with the agenda that has led to CA being the state that it is today, you really can't ask for more than that, if the people of CA are happy with how their state is run and she checks all the boxes, then so be it, I don't live in CA, so I don't have the right to say anything.
 
There is a good possibility that a Republican might be the next governor because California runs a jungle primary meaning the top two vote getters, regardless of party, face each other in the general. Since there are several Democrats running they could split the vote and the two GOP candidates might face each other in the general election.

The prediction markets are giving the republicans about a 5% chance of winning. Tom Steyer - a billionaire dem - is being given a 55% chance.

I can't see that happening, the people of CA like their state run a certain way, that's why they live there. They are very happy with how things are run, they don't want change, so they will continue to get what they've gotten for years.

If people don't like it, they are free to move to other states.

At the end of the day, it's all about positivity and happiness, spreading joy throughout the land is the key.

That sounds about right, good for Mr Steiner, I'm sure he'll make a great governor, he'll keep giving the people what they want, at the end of the day as long as the people of CA are happy, that's all that matters.

Sounds like he's got few dollars behind him too, which is important, a fella like that I'm sure will do just wonderful things for CA.

At the end of the day, it's all about things being wonderful in California.

One rich white guy replaces another. The party of diversity and the working class. Only in California. Steyer may be the only billionaire to stay in California. I would love for Porter to win it just for entertainment. The Republicans are not much better.

Good for Mr. Steiner, he'll make sure all of the policies in CA stay in place like windmills, solar panels, electric cars, DEI hiring, taking care of those who need help, it's important that all those things that worked well under that tremendous Governor Newsom stay in place, Mr Steiner is going to have some big shoes to fill, wishing him all the best and that CA stays as a state that thousands flock to every year as it's a haven to live in, a paradise really.

Thanks for telling me that info about him being holier than thou. Glad it happened. Is that Porter woman the one on camera cussing out an aid? She is a pig and that's being kind.

I would love to live in Southern California; my favorite place in the whole world is Laguna Beach. I love going to the beach. There is nothing more relaxing and could have done it every day if we’d moved there. We actually thought about moving there but basically our life is here and my son has his good friends here so here we are.

I'm in the same boat; I want to leave MA in the worst way, but my family and friends are all here, same with my better half..........if we moved to another state, we're on our own, I'm sure we'd make friends, but at this stage, it's not worth it.

Jason...my sister/brother in law...who reside in Dallas, Texas...bought a "vacation home" in Winter's California about 5 years ago...they bought it to visit their oldest son that was working on getting his PHD in advanced mathematics there...she is in love with California...can't stop talking about the climate...the nut orchard groves...the farmer's markets...the restaurants...the laid back attitude of the residents...the "food to table" concepts...they take a lot of 2 week vacations there and they both love it...even though their son has moved back to Dallas to finish his thesis...she won't give up that home...they are keeping it just for vacations...

We went there on vacation several times when my sister lived in Laguna Niguel. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere. When I’d get up in the morning, it was a little hazy and then by 10 nice and sunny.
