    Vintage Toy Soldiers and Vehicles

During the anti-war time, GI Joe switched to making "Adventure" series, so I couldn't get war-theme anymore. Here is the Secret Agent, along with his briefcase with sniper rifle and some added papers I drew as a kid to add play value. Also some other random extra equipment.

    Vintage Toy Soldiers and Vehicles

Jim, Here is some of my GI Joes, some of the items may not match since I've forgotten which uniform they go with. I also have a Base and Tower although not here in Ottawa. This was my first GI Joe and Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

    Vintage Toy Soldiers and Vehicles

I've got some of my Joe stuff here in Ottawa, so I'll dig it up, take some photos and post. The Johnny stuff is with my parents in Victoria, so that will have to wait until I go out west again. (I didn't think anybody was interested in the Johnny stuff).

    Vintage Toy Soldiers and Vehicles

Great Major Matt Mason space walker. I found my Laser Canon, Captain (somebody) and the space ship/rocket. last time I was going through stuff at my parents. Unfortunately, my nephew got a hold of the rocket and that was the end of it (Saved the other stuff though). Also, saved my Johnny West...

    Britains Collectors

I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Not many Britains collectors here that I know of - one is Dick Malott, a collector/dealer. However, I'm originally from Victoria, British Columbia, which has a several Britains vintage collectors that get together informally on an irregular basis. One active...

    Favorite Britains set or figure?

I think the green bases date from the plastic Deetail line which had all the figures in action poses, presumably not in cities, since it included Cowboys and Indians. When they re-introduced the marching Scot Guard in 1973, Britains didn't change the colour. I agree, grey would be better - maybe...

    Favorite Britains set or figure?

One of my favourites is the vintage Fort Henry Guard Pioneer, not sure why, maybe because it is a unique pose that Britains never did for any other figure prior to 1966 and looks a little more relaxed than the other standard parade figures. Its limited run and availability in 1965(?) at Fort...

Britains 25th Anniv Ltd Edns Booklet

I recently received my Britains 2008 Collectors Club package and noticed in the latest Standard that a new article series on Britains Limited Editions mentions that a 25th anniversary booklet is to be produced later this year listing, with photos I assume, all the limited editions produced since...

I like the comparison Randy. Do you happen to have the earlier version that has the prone figure with feet together?

Scales: No lies, just standardize please !

Maybe this is a good question for a poll (or has it already been done)? Something like "What's your favourite soldier scale?" with them all listed.

    Wooden "toy" soldier

I thought members may be interested in this 2-dimensional wooden "toy" soldier I had made for me by a Brit colonel, Keith Kiddie, on exchange here in Canada. He does it for a hobby. He usually does British regiments in period dress and tries to be as accurate as possible. I asked him to do one...

New Britains book 1973 to present!!

I see in my Feb issue of OTS Journal a 2-page add outlining Norman Joplin's new Britains book on figures 1973 to present, including a photo. Does anyone get this journal as my scanner is not working? The book is published by Schiffer although nothing is about it on their site. The photo of the...

    Britains set 73

Beautiful set, the figures look almost mint and the box looks in excellent condition. I have the 9000 series box that replaced 73, but unfortunately it didn't come with the figures :(

    New Catalogue 2008

Has anyone noticed that some of the Redcoats are displayed in a wooden case? I can't see it that clearly but is this being sold by Britains or is it just for display in the catalogue?
