    New Soldier Gallery ACW figures

The first three figures are almost ready to hit the streets. I am looking at a release date of sometime in June. At this time my plan is to limit the figures to no more that three hundred in production. It looks like I will be able to keep the price for each figure at the $25-$26 range. A...

    New Soldier Gallery ACW figures

Reb, I knew the size would be an issue either way I went, and believe me I lost a lot of sleep thinking it over. One reason I went with the larger size is that I know that K&C will come out with more ACW figures in the future, and I hope to supplement their line with some of my figures...

    Alex Vraciu Hellcat Ace

A friend of mine (since deceased) who was based on Tinneon (spelling?) said when some other soldiers were talking about the "BOMB" that was just drooped on Japan. He and most of the other men just could not comprehend the magnitude of the event at the time. We have the benefit of looking back...

    Alex Vraciu Hellcat Ace

Louis, I can tell you from first hand experience that if you ever get the chance to meet Alex you will not be disappointed. Over the years I have had the pleasure of his company at Robert Taylor and Nicolas Trudgian print signings. He is a very humble man that unfortunately lost his wife a...

    New Soldier Gallery ACW figures

Vamp and others, At the risk of sticking my neck out to Far, heres the deal. When you were in the shop (thank you for your business) a lot of things were still up in the air as far as getting the figures produced. It has only been in the last four or five weeks that I felt comfortable letting...

    Soldier-Pac Closes Shop

One more thing. Gun shops sell some small electric melting pots for casting bullets. They are great, and you can move out of the kitchen.

    Soldier-Pac Closes Shop

Vamp, You can go to wal-Mart of a drug store. Look in for a vibrating pillow. (yes I know, sounds strange) Buy a cheap one that takes a couple of D batteries. Take the guts out of the pillow. On the one I have there is a plastic battery holder and the motor attached to a small piece of plywood...

    Soldier-Pac Closes Shop

Vamp, Just looked at "tips for casting" post so I see you are warming the molds. Do give the vibrating a try.

    Soldier-Pac Closes Shop

Vamp, You may have tried this, so forgive me if I'm stating the obvious. Try warming the mold before pouring. Also, if you can vibrate the mold while pouring the metal it can be a big big help. If you have something like a bench grinder, run the machine on the bench next to the mold.

    Soldier-Pac Closes Shop

Vamp, I have done this with RTV and Vulcanized (spelling?) spin casting molds. I have no experance with metal molds, however the concept would be the same.

    Soldier-Pac Closes Shop

Vamp, For a large amount you can Google "conquest Industries". For small amounts Google "Mold Powder, Casting" you will find it under "casting Talc" etc. The best way to apply the powder is to put a small pile in the center of a shop rag, then pull that four corners up and put a rubber band...

Vamp. What do you use as a mold release? Grafite works great for casting but makes painting a pain:mad: Mica powder works very well.

What other hobbies do you have besides K&C

Power tools. and Clocks. Don't know why but I really like old clocks. Don't have many and I don't wind most of them. The power tools I use in my work, I am one of those fools that loves to work. Can't sit still.

What other hobbies do you have besides K&C

I have been looking at the forum for some time now and not felt the need to post but I can't pass on this one. All of the mentions of what we did when we were kids make me want to join in. I am lucky to live in a part of CA. that is still in the country and we don't have all of the rules and...
