I really like how this turned out McKenna, very nice. It is a shame these tanks came out just before all the metal/plastic replicas started hitting the shelves a decade or so ago, I think they did anyhow....point being most of us would have hordes of these without those. I have 2 myself...
I agree with Gary, you did a great job on these Scott. Each guy is unique....I would say you Alamo fans out there have quite the variety of figures now to really make an impressive set!
Would anybody who purchased these Germans take some comparative pics with other WW2 makers? I am sad to hear they are on the smaller side, really unfortunate when you have so many German figures produced already that tend to be on the 'larger' side of 1/32 scale. Gary, would you compare them...
Finished off the last 4 of the set of 8 CTS rebs. I wanted to paint these 4 as more 'standard' uniform infantry. I used 2 different gray paints from ceramcoat for the base colors - cadet gray and lichen gray.
Happy Memorial Day weekend everybody! In honor of the fallen veterans throughout our great nation's history who have sacrificed all to ensure our freedom, I thought it appropriate to bust out the blue and gray deetail collection I have in a fun battle action setup. Hope you all have a glorious...
Highly, highly impressed....museum quality or higher, I dont know of a higher rating to give this work, truly remarkable and beautifully executed. It's as if someone shrunk down real life architecture from the past!
Oh boy...they must have gotten an early start, look at that blue sky!!! Hope Billy Yank doesn't come down the road and disturb their good times!!! Well done Scott!
Here's some shots of varying figure sizes:
TSSD vs. Conte
TSSD vs. Italeri
TSSD vs. Conte (actually the Spartans aren't that undersized vs. TSSD barbs, but they are a little bit vs. the Romans)
I thought Romans were kinda undersized folks, but these romans are around 6'4" NBA guards.
Some of the problem with the 'growth' of 1/32 to 54mm to 60mm to 1/30 are the freaking bases the figures are on. I personally like the detailed bases on some figures such as Conte, but it definitely makes the figures 'taller' than necessary. The figures are def trending upwards in size - the...
Well done Scott! I like the detail and crispness of these figures. These guys are so fresh, they look best as early war figures - 1st Bull Run, like they haven't witnessed the full din of battle yet.
Yeah, I guess that's all I mean really, that's the only set of figures I know that are computer generated, and I am not a huge fan - and I still purchased a bunch!! Those Romans tower over conte figures as well.
I too prefer whatever figures made to be 54mm, and also one request - no more computer sculpting! not yet anyways, the hand sculpted figure is still wayyyyyyy better than the computer!
Thanks Scott for the historical info, that yankee description of the prisoners is pretty cool. I actually use that same yellow brown (spice tan) on the uniforms as you can tell, as a butternut - the unfished rebel at the bottom has a spiced tan coat, I have another brown - territorial beige I...
Thanks everybody for the gracious comments! These guys are really fun to bring to life! To answer your question Fubar, these match up great with Conte guys, on my next post of these CTS guys I'll be sure include some of the Conte rebs I have painted up already for a reference. I assume they...
Thought I would throw up 3 of 8 figures I am painting from CTS confederates. These figures are a blast to paint as they have crisp detail and very dynamic poses. Only finished these first 2, but kinda stumped on the 3rd one's blanket roll. Any suggestions? Should I leave in plain, or paint...
