The Hobby Master 1/32 diecast Hellcat and SBD can be found on Ebay for under $200.00. The 21st Century 1/32 F4U
is on Ebay for less than $100.00. The JJD figures look good with 1/32 aircraft; as they are no larger than 60mm.
Photos of the JJD pilot in the cockpit of the hobby master SBD and F6F. The standing figure is the W.Britains Navel aviator figure; which is 61mm tall and is the correct size when placed next to a 21st century F4U, looks just like the actual photo posted.
The pilot seats in the F6F, SBD and F4U...
I use the JJD Navy Pilots in my 1/32 Hobby Master F6F and SBD. A perfect fit in the cockpit and a very realistic figure.
I hope JJD produces some Luftwaffe pilots to fit into my 21st Century FW 190 D and ME 262.
Excellent figure sculpts. The poses are very dynamic. The arms and armor are accurate for the period and can serve as Vikings as well as Saxons IMO. Archers need to be added, as these were key to winning the battles of both Stamford Bridge and Hastings.
Nice Diorama; the variety of poses from TG Romans is the best since Conte. The TG Onagers and Skorpion are the most accurate made to date IMO. TG should make a Roman Galley on which the artillery could be displayed to good effect. I am sure TG could improve on the accuracy of the Conte galley...
I use Exin blocks in my Roman fortifications and they look quite realistic. The Roman watchtower on the Danube river frontier, being resupplied by the Playmobile Roman galley is an example. I even built a 1/30 scale Roman Triumphal Arch with them through which Claudius on his Elephant could pass...
I think if you look at my diorama you will see that the Playmobile Roman Galley was modified and repainted to resemble a Roman River Patrol boat. The emblem on the sail was replaced and the shields were removed. The large scale of the Playmobile galley allowed for a Scorpion and 1/30 scale crew...
How do you engage a Carthaginian galley under sail when you have none? The Roman galley was a direct copy of the Carthaginian galley; which had sails. Granted unique circumstances could require that a sail would present a problem; but not in general navel warfare at sea.
The Conte Roman galley...
I purchased a TCS Kingtiger in TCS packaging dated 2015. The story I pieced together from both the seller in China and Brian at TCS comments when I inquired; that these were a small preproduction run for TCS that were rejected by TCS. The Kingtigers were sold by the Chinese manufacturer to...
Nice historical perspective of the period of the wars with Carthage. The Roman warship of this era was a direct copy of a captured ship from Carthage. The ships of both Carthage and Rome had at least one square rigged sail and as many as three on the largest vessel. The size and shape of the JJD...
ED has produced a crew for their 88MM Flak Gun. I imagine they will be producing a crew for their Werblewind soon. Watch Y-weido's Ebay site; they come up on there as soon as they are available.
The best Panther G produced to date in 1/30-1/28 scale IMO. Superb camouflage pattern and excellent colors. Exceeds Figarti and FL examples of the Panther G. A new standard to be met or excelled. K&C now needs to make a new King Tiger at this level of quality!
I have received several ED models without problems. I find in the US customs inspections can be more of a problem than shippers or packaging. The packaging of the ED Kingtiger was excellent.
Thick foam sheets and a heavy card board box. EMS is an excellent shipper; but I have had antiques...
TG Romans are compatible with JJD and Conte; typically 60-62mm tall. The TG WWI line is compatible with TCS and K&C i.e. 64-66mm typically.
I recall Julie did some excellent comparison photos of Roman figures a while ago on this thread.
Figarti was a good example of Chinese QC. Flaking paint, missing parts, shifts in scale etc. The problems occurred in small production run products of typically 100 pieces. The companies I have worked for produced products in 100,000 piece production runs; where a failure of QC would have...
I stand by my comment that TCS got the wheels on right with this version. I also stand by the comment that US QA is superior to Chinese IMO. Disagree if you will but do not distort what i said!
Two statements about two different subjects; do not conflate the two. Reading comprehension has...
