The problem was there were only 29 Park Police assigned to monitor thousands of protestors (from a report I heard). Police did try to intervene. I watched a video as they attempted to arrest of several protestors but the police themselves were being attacked. They were outmanned.

The army moved all of the armor out of Ft Knox when they closed to armor museum there yrs ago. The museum was open to the public yr round when it was at Knox. The Infantry Museum at Ft Moore is amazing and well worth a vist.

Bob Newhart passed away at age 94 yesterday. He was a great comedian and did many deadpan monologues. May he rest in peace trading jokes with his best friend Don Rickles.

Hope they do a better job than with the gun in the Alec Baldwin shooting. The FBI literally broke the pistol with a mallet. You can't make this up.

The only purpose I can see for SWAT/Tactical police units are to march about after a shooting with grim looking faces, decked out in tactical gear and rifles at port arms for a photo op. This after the Trump shooting.

Regarding the assassination attempt, there are no competent Federal agencies anymore.

Used to spend part my of summers on Eastern Shore as a kid. Always thought I would own a vacation home around St Mary's and go crabbing in my retirement. Unfortunately, moved away after college and the dream never happened.

Was stationed in Tampa while in the USAF in the early 90's. We couldn't handle hot & humid 12 mos a yr and moved out as soon as I retired and have never looked back, well okay, there a some days in January. :cautious:

Last time we bought a washing machine it has old fashioned dials, not digital displays. And washes great!
