It's the assassination attempt of the former President. The number one news story in the world and priority of law enforcement. Whatever needs to be done should have been done yesterday. I'm sure this situation has come up before and they know how to open the phone. The absence of answers results in conspiracy theories. With all the lies that the FBI has perpetuated including covering up the motive of the Nashville shooter to this day, they need to be transparent to restore confidence. So far, so bad. The secret service has yet to explain how the building was left unguarded or whose responsibility it was to guard it. And if they can't open the phone or know the shooter's motive, how have they concluded he acted alone? I think he did but it's premature to reach that conclusion.
You have much more confidence in them than I do. There are questions that could be answered at this point. Whose responsibility was it to secure the building? When did the counter-sniper team become aware of the threat? Why didn't they neutralize the shooter before he could fire the shots? There is video footage of the counter-sniper team aiming their rifles in the direction of the shooter while Trump was still speaking. Before any shots had been fired. They appear to have hesitated before taking him out. My guess is that they were uncertainty whether the shooter was a member of the security detail and hesitated. That delay allowed the shooter to fire and it was only a miracle that Trump wasn't killed. If so, this was a colossal security failure in which the head of the secret service and the local law enforcement should be fired. I'm also sure that the Dems do not want the shooter's motive to be connected in any way to their rhetoric. The FBI has shown a willingness in recent cases to give these investigations a slow roll and even refuse to reach any conclusions when they have negative political consequences. They have started down that path here.
To close the loop on this, the FBI in Pa attempted to break into his phone but were unable to do so and the phone has been sent to Quantico to be unlocked.
The efforts of the secret service advance team and local law enforcement were a complete disgrace. The reports today indicate that the shooter bought a ladder and perhaps used that to get on the building. He was identified as a suspicious person 30 minutes before the shooting because he was using a range finder! What could be noticeable about being dressed in camo-like outfit, using a range finder, carrying a ladder and a rifle through the crowd? If he had rode a pink elephant, it couldn't have stood out more. Then he is on the building for almost two minutes. The secret service indicates that local law enforcement had responsibility for the building and that there were police in the building. What are they doing while a shooter is on the roof? Can't they get to him in two minutes? It is a colossal failure on par with Uvalde. At a minimum, the head of the secret service and local law enforcement should be fired. All the police officers who failed to respond should be fired and the families of those who were killed or injured should sue them for negligence.
The head of the SS when asked about that building said no security was assigned to it as the roof was sloped and presented a danger, plus the building had local law enforcement inside and they had secured it.
Hope they do a better job than with the gun in the Alec Baldwin shooting. The FBI literally broke the pistol with a mallet. You can't make this up.
I can't believe how slowly information trickles out with everyone and their brother having cameras. They are telling us today that the shooter bought a ladder on the day of the event. I'm not Sherlock Holmes, but I'm guessing he used that ladder to climb on top of the building. Think of the image where this miscreant carries a ladder and his rifle from his car which must have been parked some distance from the building past the spectators and law enforcement to the building. Nothing to see there. Then he climbs up the ladder to the roof and crosses from building to building like spiderman. What were the police doing inside the buidling while peopel are yelling that there is a shooter on the roof? Not a single reporter or spectator walks around the building after the shooting and films a ladder propped against the building? And on and on. The FBI is saying the shooter didn't use his phone. No texts. How many 20 year old people buy an iphone and don't use it?
Understood, all about the money is right, the colors and designs were just horrendous.
