    There is no such thing as 'larger 1/32nd' - an oxymoron if there ever was one. Conte, TSSD, etc are all 1/30th scale (58/60mm) Airfix and Britains were always true 54mm / 1/32nd scale

    Tpy soldier tv plastic comments

    Has any one watched the Toy Soldier TV section covering the December 2008 Toy Soldier Forum? I thought that the comments made were very interesting and that Peter Evans from Plastic Warrior was spot on in his observations.

    Never written for PW, I am a subscriber ( as well as the other figure magazines) and considered the critical comments on this set to be spot on.

    Have you seen the REPLICANTS Napoleonic figures? My final comment on the Call to Arms Brits is that the shako is too tall and the plume is the wrong shape. With all the reference material available to designers today there is no real excuse for all the mistakes found in this set.

    Sorry, but to get rid of the inaccuraties on the Call to Arms 1815 British Light Infantry you would have to remove the plumes, remove the shakos, remove the ammo pouch, transfer the water bottle to the correct size, alter the bayonet hanger, carve off the chin straps and change the buttons on...

    Bill Farmers sculpting is full of errors, as is his uniform detail. He did not make all the Matchbox sets - Ron Cameron did the Aussies and Japs.
