Vintage K&C Wood, Metal and Resin Allied Armor

Thanks for posting these very valuable early wooden vehicles, Louis. But according to K&C's Collectors magazine, Toy Soldier Picture Books V1 and your previous thread about the 3 early wooden tanks(Tiger, Panther and Sherman) which were made in China, their production run is 50 each rather than...

    Arnhem Jeep question...

This wooden jeep was priced at US$179 and was the most expensive jeep that K&C was produced according to The Toy Soldier Picture Vol 1. Less than 50 were made and I have never seen it put into the market eg Ebay for many years.

    Favorite

For me, it would be a K&C wooden tiger tank (made in the Philippines with several versions) which is exactly the same as the one kept in K&C headquarters.

    Mr. Larry Lo

Just feel sad to hear this sad news, a couple of years ago I asked Larry to post some old K&C wooden Tiger tank photos for me and he though did not know me but posted several photos the following days. A very kind man. I appreciated his kind assistance. Deeply sorry for a great loss to this...

How many toy soldier collectors are there in the world?

I have been thinking of this question for quite a long time. First of all, the toy soldiers I refer to is those painted 1/30 or 1/32 metal soldiers, not the 1/32 and 1/72 plastic non-painted figures or plastic kits. My guess the TS collectors number is around 80,000 to 100,000. The popular...

    WA28 - 18th French Line Infantry!

I would like to play a bid but the postage is so high that scare me away. Last time I bought two sets of Trophy from a well known dealer in England and it only costed me around 11 pounds. Some sellers charged postage too high will definitely make some potential buyer not to bid.

What was your Toy Soldier Journey by Manufacturer?

In around 10 I played Airfix HO/00 and then 1/32nd figures. Still love the box art and every figures. Later Atlantic and ESCI figures only because in Hong Kong at that time there were no other small scale figures available. Then building and painting Historex figures. In late 1999 starting...

How to dispose your toy soliders collection

Thanks for everyone's comments about the topic. In fact, I still love the remaining of my limited collection of toy soldiers, I heard from other big collectors who mentioned that they will donate their collections to the local educational institutions and some others who always put their...

How to dispose your toy soliders collection

Just interest to know what people think about how to dispose their toy soldiers collection. I mean only if you are not interst in some lines like WWII, civil war, Napoleonic et. I do not have a huge collections so I sold those I did not interest anymore to the local traders and collector...

"I'm getting out of the hobby"....................

Very interesting to read about others in this topic. I do not think I will get out of this hobby. I played plastic toy soldiers in my childhood. Then moving to build and paint plastic soldiers kits like Historex. Later to start collecting metal toy soldiers and up to now. I love this toy...

    Russian Style vs. English Style?

Agreed with you about the Golden Age, Louis, more companies established in the recentl years and producing different periods of toy soldiers as we can see. I just have a question for some time that how to attract more new collectors to this hobby as I am aware that most of the collectors...

    K&C wishlist

Hi, I would like to see if K&C could make: World War 2 Chinese Nationalist Army wearing German helmets fighting in Shangahi 1937 and the Expeditionary Forece fightign in Burma. If K&C wound like to expand their market in China. I think the current Imperial China and HK seriers are...

Bit of dark humour and reality

I have been thinking this for quiet a long time. Nearly 10 years ago I talked to a local dealer that since the TS collectors were mostly in the middle age and after 20 years I would think there would be far less collectors out there. The new generation are most likely to play electronic games...

Toy Soldier Pricing.....How Much Is Too Much ?

Louis' thought is quite reasonable, I agree with him. I may think those who paid the high prices for some retired items are: 1. who speculates in toy soldiers and want to make a quick profit on it. 2. who are willing to pay a high price on an item that he/she wants most. 3. who are just...

Toy Soldier Pricing.....How Much Is Too Much ?

Refer to Chris' questions: I think the manufacturers themselves are the right people to reply to your first question. But to my guess, they will not say so. Scaling back is a huge risk to their business unless they get enough postive feedback from the collectors to make such a change. For...
