Right when they went under these a number of lots of these figures showed up on ebay along with the British Airborne, If my memory serves me right they were sold off by former employees of the company since prototype runs of both had been run along with different schemes of existing vehicles...
Maybe my math skills have deteriorated but ten sets (5 German and 5 American assuming you only buy one of each and mix and match head gear between sets) at $32 is should be $320. Tssd has them listed for $29 so feel free to correct me if my math skills are off again but $29 x 10 =$290 :salute...
Very true but companies like TSSD, Austin miniatures, CTS etc. are still able to produce sets with an average of 16 figures in 8 poses for the final cost to us being 20-26 dollars. Again just my two cents.
So the sets are from what i read $32 a piece for nine figures with no interchangable headgear (except if you buy each set with different headgear or multiples) and no interchangeable/spare arms as far as i know....these are looking more and more like a pass for me. I might buy the weapons...
I had heard that too and that they were slated to be released after the medieval range seeing as that range only came out recently after a short delay I would expect them in the next month or so.
The sell toys tank seems to be no different in accuracy than a cts tank since both have no track detail to speak of and are fairly good representations of the tanks if we forget the track part. The test will see what the production version of this vehicle looks like and if it warrants the higher...
Legally as far as I know even if the company is out of business the figures are intellectual property and still owned by the sculptors or the estate of the company owners so without owning the actual mold it would be illegal to sell copies you made. Now that does not preclude you from making...
I like the greater level of detail in 54mm-60mm and many wargame rule sets like bolt action (which I use) are designed for larger size miniatures. I collected 1/32 for many years now so its more practical to work with the scale my collection is. Locktite is $3.
Valid point but I wargame so coming from that background I prefer the semi scenic bases (certain kneeling figures I don't base). Locktite doesn't break either I think it might be cheaper than maxi cure if you can find it.
Ah not as simple as I thought, I was under the assumption you were buying pre-cut bases not cutting them yourself from plasticard. I cast my own sculpted bases so instead of lowering them like you do I raise them to the height of Conte figures sounds like a similar amount of work haha.
Also where do you get the particular basses you use? I personally go the opposite rout and cast larger scenic basses for my figures to match Conte, ONTC, Britains basses but your method seems much simpler.
Interesting I always shy'd away from maxi cure and other liquid super glues due to the residue left upon drying. If you don't like the residue I use locktite super glue gel (there are two types either works) to get the same results without the white residue upon drying.
I don't think that's the point anyone is trying to make. The point I was trying to make was that the set is not marketed as Waffen SS and with that being said there is no kit on them to denote them as SS as some collectors don't like to buy Waffen SS figures. I personally do buy them/convert...
Don't know if this has previously been stated but these are slated for release in December and they have plans to expand the range to include figures for the desert campaign in Libya and the Pacific. All very exciting.
If you are still confused on anything i mentioned pm me and i can explain whatever is unclear. I fancy myself to be somewhat knowledgeable of German infantry uniforms equipment etc from WW2.
I realize all the facts that you stated and accept them as true. In my opinion I haven't and most likely wont buy a set from this company due to the fact that for the price being asked and cottage industry I would expect more combat poses higher level of detail perhaps etc. I don't necessarily...
The elite German set is called just that the Elite German set (never in its title is Waffen SS mentioned). Heer panzer grenadiers were elite troops (Panzer lehr, Grossdeutchland , Feldernhalle etc were all considered especially elite) please refer to my previous post explaining why the only two...
