Unfortunately the toy makers will ignore this movie. If someone does do it the figures will be 3.75 inches which seems like the standard size they all use nowadays. If they do vehicles they will be way to big for 1/32.
I agree. They seem to be sticking with Russian history. It would be nice if we had an American maker who would fill the gaps in our history like WW1, Korean War and Vietnam.
What irks me about the Hobbit movies is the depictions of the Dwarves and others. The ridiculous fantasy armor worn by the Dwarves defending the mine in the first film, the look of the Lake people Men-At-Arms Medieval Russians. I was attracted to the books because Tolkein's Northwestern European...
I agree that a 1/32 or 1/30 scale company that could produce heads, helmets and small arms for conversions is needed. Ideally it would be a marriage of someone with avast military collection and a 3d printer. Take the M-1 Helmet as an example, if you have the helmet add cloth cover for...
Agreed! Would really like to see ACW Naval landing party. Other than that a whole new period they haven't done yet. Either something Medieval or WW2/Post War conflicts.
Pretty good but to me they look like conversions of his earlier produced figures. The Apache scout, a buckskin scout and from the horse handlers the sitting firing pistol. I hope he only does one set of each -Texicans and Mexicans then move on to something new and different.
I've also wondered the same thing. A Chinese maker has just produced one of those plastic bucket sets of Fantasy figures. They are mediocre quality and the lone Orc figure looks like a wolf man. I was hoping with the Hobbit movie we would see 1/32 ish figures based on the movie but there is...
I guess we are nitpicking this great set-up but regardless of cows grazing the grass wouldn't be that high in Massachusetts early spring. Just coming off Winter and still some cold days.
I like all the old makers like Marx, Airfix, Esci and Revell but the most detailed and historically accurate sculpts are now coming from TSSD, Conte (please more), Russian makers and CTS. Like it or not it is the new trend and I think it would hurt sales of current makers to match up with...
Thanks for the comparisons! Looks like Pegasus is the oddball set compared with all the other makers. Pegasus needs to upscale their figures a little it is the same reason I found the German Para's disappointing. The Pegasus figures are nicely sculpted though.
Excellent sculpting again by PVBLIVS but only one concern. Is that chain mail on some of the figures or studded leather jerkin.
I would love to see them do 100 Years War Archers and Men-At-Arms.
PVBLIVS did 3 Medieval sets and a Pirate set.
Replicants did a Robin Hood and a Crusade era Knight sets.
A Chinese maker did a new Fantasy set that's available at Toys R Us
Don't know much about "OWN" but I'd like to own their sets but where do you get them? Anyway they also did Boxer Rebellion...
It does seem like we are getting barraged by Western themes. I for one would like to see a nicely done Medieval 100 yrs War set but that not forthcoming more WW2. It's been kind of a dry spell for the most popular era in collecting, the Pegasus Germans were a little disappointing due to their...
