Fancy a Knight out in Agincourt?

jb, This one happens to be an original hollowcast, rather than a Dorset purchase. As for the shape of the banner, I was inspired by this stained glass window showing St. Dennis handing off the oriflamme. I believe this panel is from a cathedral in Chartres. Enjoy!

Fancy a Knight out in Agincourt?

Here are the photos of the completed project. I painted him as geoffroi de charny. He died at poitiers in 1356. Here he is charging with my version of the oriflamme.

    Knights of the Seven Kingdoms

I've been away from my projects for awhile, but the law is a jealous mistress. Anyway, here's a couple of pictures of some completed Kingsguards.

    Knights of the Seven Kingdoms

My next project in this line will be converting some hollow cast foot knights into members of the kingsguard. Below are pictures of the knights I'll be using, and the picture from the graphic novel which is providing some inspiration.

    Knights of the Seven Kingdoms

Egad! my latest knight appears to have been a victim of the forum change, so I'll repost him here.

    Knights of the Seven Kingdoms

Brad, I used one of the "knights of agincourt" recasts with a spare helm fitted with a dragon, all provided by the good folks at Dorset Soldiers!

    Knights of the Seven Kingdoms

I recently finished all of the Game of Thrones books, and was inspired to paint a few knights as I imagined them. This one is Daemon Blackfyre, as I imagined him after reading his description.

    College Football - 2016

That game was a heartbreaker for my Golden Hurricane, I really thought they were going to pull it out. Tulsa and Navy have the same problem, no defense.

    Courtenay Repair

That's an excellent point about the scale of these knights. This picture shows the Courtenay lined up next to a Knights of Agincourt recast for comparison.

    Courtenay Repair

Unfortunately, this is my only in progress photo. In terms of process the base was cast from a Prince August mold, and I used a DeWalt drill to bore two holes at an angle for the legs. The legs are attached with as much putty, glue, and rubber cement as I could possibly pack in ther...

How many active vintage W. Britains Ltd. collectors?

I collect vintage britains, and I have begun repairing a few of them. As an aside, this is one area or our hobby which is definitely graying.

    Courtenay Repair

Yes, the hoof on the front right front leg is missing, but I have already resolved to try and sculpt a new one as the Baron describes. Also, it's possible that the knight's helm is missing a plume. And on a side note, I feel your pain. Courtenays are so absurdly expensive that the only ones...

    Courtenay Repair

Ok, so I acquired this guy on ebay. He is a Courtenay M2 knight, or what's left of one, painted as the black prince. I have never tried to repair a Courtenay piece before. I tried going through some of my britains spares for parts, but I cannot find a good fit. If anyone has ever repaired a...

The Continuing Story of a Dying Hobby

As a member of the under 30 demographic, I can honestly say that this hobby will not die out. With that being said, I have noticed that most other collectors in my age range have a preference for tabletop gaming and fantasy figures. In many ways this means that this hobby will be returning to...

    Help Identifying Indian Chief

Well I decided to take your advice regarding the "buckskin." I personally prefer Testors to Humbrol, but gloss is definitely my medium. Cowboys and Indians is a little bit outside of my usual collecting sphere, but he turned out to be really fun to paint.

    Help Identifying Indian Chief

I recently purchased this Indian Chief from a local flea market. It is hollowcast, and 54mm scale, other than that I know nothing. Any additional information that anyone can give me would be helpful. Thanks! Jacob

    First Attempt at Freehand Heraldry

Inspired by some members of this forum, whose painted knights are truly fantastic, I've decided to try my hand at repainting some agincourt recasts. These two are painted as Walter Hungerford, and Jean I Count of Pontheiu.
