    Spare parts for old Lucotte

Mignot's site: http://www.cbgmignot.com/ I often find old Lucotte like yours in groups of Mignot I buy as they are easily misidentified. The photo below is of one such example I obtained this week, a mounted WWI Officer (probably pre-1920 manufacture). On the right is a standard Mignot drum...

What is a big TS collection?

And along this line of reasoning (and hopefully supporting it)... What is a toy soldier collection anyhow? I must preface my comments a bit. I am autistic and therefore by nature very literal. Many (most?) figures produced today are not toys and are not meant to be played with by children...

I joke with my wife constantly that simply looking at these Mignot wrong will make them bend. :)

Mignot repair inquiry - Set #04 Gauls in Combat

Hi jb, He is a beauty. Funny enough, your recommended repair option is exactly what I have decided to do. I will remove the spear from the top of the hand, re-attach, and use the original spear tip. I found him a companion on eBay last night for a great price (no repair needed unless he is...

What else do you collect beside toy soldiers

Re: What else you collect, beside toy soldiers I also collect excavated buttons, mostly First Empire Napoleonic, but also early US (from 1776 to 1815) and also early Spanish and French colonial examples (1600-1750). I purchase them excavated and clean and conserve them (I am a former metals...

Mignot repair inquiry - Set #04 Gauls in Combat

Hi, Brad, Thank you but no. I'd like to try this myself. I have built several miniatures from kits (mostly Historex), and I feel I have the skill set to do it.

Mignot repair inquiry - Set #04 Gauls in Combat

While I am repairing the foot figure, I might as well tackle his riding companion as well. I believe this is from the same set. It has a crude epoxy repair to the hand/shield, and there is also a rubber piece that has been added to help the rider stay on the horse.

Mignot repair inquiry - Set #04 Gauls in Combat

Hi, Mirof... I do see that, yes. I did not realize that this could be a sign of the disease. I have read there are immersive treatments for it, but I don't recall if one can use them on already painted figures?

It does, thank you. I think I will try to drill/pin, as you suggest; I have everything necessary save for the proper diameter replacement rod.

Mignot repair inquiry - Set #04 Gauls in Combat

Thank you for your reply. Why do you say this piece has lead disease? I'm seeing no residual powder or any rough surfaces under magnification. I understand these former are the signs?

Mignot repair inquiry - Set #04 Gauls in Combat

Hello, This is my first post to the forum. I am a collector of Mignot figures. I have a small collection of perhaps 50 individual post-war pieces. I like their charm and whimsy and also the fact that no two are alike. Typically, I am able to easily repair them, but this Gaul (believed to date...
