Looking for S&S miniatures. Interested in Victorian or ceremonial figures. I once saw this figure that I believe was from S&S, it was a welsh guard I believe? Marching with a cape on. Can't find any information about this figure anywhere. Would greatly appreciate some help with finding one.

I don't know of these figures, but if you are looking for figures of that period in greatcoats, not cloaks which I think were only worn by mounted troops, then Asset Miniatures have them listed in their catalogue.

If you email Anne Randall and explain what you are wanting, like the weapons, and headdress and poses she may be able to supply them as painted or castings.

Yeah Asset is where I buy most my figures nowadays, they do a terrific job. However I can't see anywhere in the catalog that mentions figures with capes, ill send her an email anyway and see if she can put something together. The foot guards do wear them during the summer months to protect there red tunics from the rain.

Martyn is correct. S&S was handled by MKL , might have been their exclusive line, not sure who the actual producer was. I believe I had a 'ceremonial' key set some time ago. Anyhow, they should be able to give you info on them.

Dear Padow15

I think you are right. I remember I have seen at the Guards Toy Soldier Centre a marching guardsman wearing cape (S&S or MKL; it's the same style made by David Sparrow). I believe they are not in production. You may contact MKL to ask if there is anyone left at the shop. Good luck.

Was that recent? I sent them an email about a year ago and heard nothing back. I assumed they no longer had the figure and didn't understand what I was talking about.

Dear Padow

I believe the best is to call the shop not MKL, and ask them to look in the shelves. There are many gems hidden. I remember the marching guardsman with the cape. I believe he was a fifer or bugler because he carried no gun. But why are you looking for this one? S&S and MKL made some great ceremonial sets. A few of them are still in the shop. The two last set in got were the RAF colour party and a mounted Grenadier Guards Officer.
