Hi Guys,
In answer to what’s next on the aircraft front…no firm decisions at this time on the mixed media poly ones. I’m going to be speaking to both dealers and collectors in the U.S. to gather their thoughts and ideas. As for the wooden, hand-carved ones…quite a few in the pipline including a great looking Desert JU52 as well as our first crack at the Short Stirling…the only British “Heavy” K&C has not produced yet. On a smaller level…we’re also producing the AVRO ANSON one of my own fave raves!
Re Winter Jagdpanther…already in the works I expect factory samples in October when I get back from the U.S. I saw the “Wishing for the old way” thread…Seems whatever we do someone somewhere won’t like it! Over the years we had quite a few requests to leave the extra stowage off in order for collectors to add tank riders etc. on the back…or just leave it “empty”.
As UK Subs says extra stowage does come at an extra price and we are trying to keep prices down or at least stable during this time. As far as the track issue goes…Obviously it’s not to all tastes but at K&C we believe it provides extra strength in a potentially delicate area and from my own military experience I remember that tracked vehicle’s tracks attract mud the way honey attracts flies!
In this hobby like much else in life it’s impossible to be all things to all people. Finally, Gordon and yours truly fly out of HK on Friday afternoon to California and Los Gatos, the home base of “Sierra Toy Soldiers”. We’re looking forward to meeting up with Mike, Myszka and the Sierra Gang and meeting lots of old friends (and some new ones) at the “Meet ‘n’ Greet” over the weekend.
After that it’s onto Chicago and the “BIGGIE”…I cannot say too many great things about this show. If you love toy soldiers as we all do Chicago is Lourdes and Mecca all rolled into one! There is just so much to see and do. You owe it to yourself to visit at least once in your life…This will be my 26th.
Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy C.
