Hi Guys,

Just got back into Hong Kong a few days ago and trying to catch up on a pile of paperwork, emails and..."Treefrog Replies"!

So, without further ado...here goes...

1. Special Thanks to my old/young friend Jason England “Panzer Ace” for his “K&C/Sierra Saturday Night Live Event” report...Did I really say all those things? I must have cos’ Jason said I did!

Thanks also Jason for being a founder member of the “K&C Unofficial Road Crew”...Along with Tom Dubel, Hans Hedrich, Chris Munro and Amber from Kings X you guys are the best!

2. Missing Bazooka Guy...
I apologize for this missing-in-action guy...he got lost in the confusion of battle!

3. TRW...after Custer...Well to be honest I ain’t finished with the Little Big Horn yet...We’ve not even got to Reno and Benteen and their men. But I do like Apaches and Canadian Mounties...Let’s see what’s in the bag...
1850’s Dragoons...Happily, I loved ‘em but unfortunately not so many other collectors did!?! But the Commanches with them were very popular which, of course, led us onto Sioux and Cheyenne which then got us into...well you know the rest! So, alas, no more Dragoons...sorry!

4. Rommel’s Desert Taxi
A great little aircraft and a great little Rommel figure...Many thanks “WO” for highlighting this particular set again.

5. “Just Passing Through”
Another great set-up...well done Wayne! Also love the “Desert Beast”.

6. “New Arrival”...Just one more “Duke Delight”...Keep ‘em coming!

7. Jeepers Creepers!”
One more special thankyou to our Jeep driver (and owner) for the ride out to the Lyon Air Museum...Collector Kris Weber brought his 1945-built Jeep and trailer out to the “Westcoaster” show and took yours truly and Jason “Panzer Ace” to the above air museum just 7 minutes from The Irvine Marriott to see an awesome B17G “Fuddy Duddy” and an outstanding B25 plus a number of other great aircraft including no less than 2 x C47’s, one of which was in full D.Day markings...And they also had some great WW2 vehicles and motorcycles including one of “Der Fuhrer’s” very own 6 wheel Mercedes Staff Cars...

Thankyou Kris...Let’s go back next year!
Until we meet again...Best wishes and happy collecting,

Andy C.

P.S. Small Correction: Sorry “Hatman” you got your wires a wee bit crossed...! The “cease and desist” came from the old “Patton Command Car Set”. We had no problem from the Mounties.

Thanks Andy! you give us a clear view into TRW fog!
I'm going to make room for Reno And Benteen but the Apaches are also very welcome here in the Netherlands.

Andy:

With regards to your 2nd U.S. Army Dragoons and Comanche Warriors. A few years back I secured 11 of the Comanche Warriors from your TRW series and used them in a diorama relating to immediately after the American Civil War in 1865 when the 4th U.S. Army Cavalry was sent to Texas in late 1865 and fought the Comanche for a time. I secured the 4th Cav. figures from your American Civil War series.

I have to note that your U.S. Army 1850s 2nd Dragoons based on my research should have had orange stripes on their pants and orange piping on their jackets. Yellow trim on uniforms was for the U.S. Army Cavalry only.

In any case, I am glad you finally added to your circa 1998 "TW" sets relating to the Battle of the Little Big Horn starting in 2012. I have added a number of new 7th Cav. & Indian warriors since 2012 to the older sets I had from your THE WEST series.

Andy:

Apologies for the delayed reply.

Special thanks right back to you and K&C, for the stories, the drinks etc., and the laughs.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but if any collectors have not been to a toy soldier show I can't encourage it enough. I guarantee that you will not regret it. Yes, there are toy soldiers at the shows, but there is so much more to it than that. You can't really describe it, just go to one and you will see what I mean. If you only want to focus on the toy soldier aspect, then let your motivation be the chance to see Gordon's dios in person.

-Jason

PS-Special thanks to everyone Andy mentioned. Chris, Hans, Ed, Amber and TD. The show wouldn't be the same without you. Inside joke (Hans, Ed & TD), the trip to "Cuba" was a real highlight.

PS2-Another tip of the cap to Sierra for another great and informative K&C meet and greet.
