Hi Guys,

Many thanks for the appreciative comments on “Shoo Shoo Baby”….Still on WW2 airplanes and other connected items….
My brother Gordon just completed probably the largest commission he’s ever undertaken – a 471/2 square foot airfield for a K&C collector in Europe. See photos attached.
The actual display measured 2 metres by 2.2 metres and was subdivided into 4 sections, the main hanger was a separate piece as was the Chris Munro (American Model Dockyard) Control Tower, everything else was attached.
The collector also requested that be able to “dress” the airfield as both a British RAF bomber base as well as a U.S. Army Air Force field….Hence the different aircraft and figures.
Hope you like it….
Best wishes and happy flying!

Andy C.

I am so thankful I do not collect these wonderful diorama's which have the potential to send me broke, great to sit back and admire, cheers, Robin.

You should get the buyer to post in the 'What's you price limit' thread. That would be interesting!{sm4}

All it needs now is the runway! {sm4}

Goodness, what a dio, you would have to kick the kids out of their room to fit that dio in there!

Thanks for posting Andy, awesome stuff!

Fantastic Andy, Gordon at its best. I hope this goes in his book of dioramas. When will that be available by the way?

This is one of those things where if you have to ask how much it is you can't afford it.

So, Andy how much was it? ^&grin

Cheers,

Brad

Really something special here Andy and Gordon. Airfields are some of my favorite set ups, and this is top notch to say the least. Whoever the recipient of this great dio is one fortunate collector.

Absolutely stunning diorama, Gordon and Chris!^&cool^&cool^&cool^&cool The Control Tower reminds me a bit of the one Gordon did for me as one of his first two commissions (the other being the special over-sized Hong Kong Bridge and Quays) he did for me when you first announced he would be doing custom diorama commissions lo those many years ago^&grin.

Simply outstanding and beautiful! An airfield dio can't get any better than this! Congratulations!

Wow, this is amazing. Another example of how K&C is at the top of their game.

Nobody does WWII aviation better.

This might be a good time to slip in a minor addition to the "wish list": Bud Anderson's P-51D "Old Crow"

Anderson's memoir "To Fly and Fight" is IMO one of the best accounts from a WWII ETO fighter pilot. Robin Old's "Fighter Pilot" is another good one.

This airfield is a wonderful piece, absolutely stunning.

Thanks for sharing.

:)
