“Commemorating & Celebrating” (2 Viewers)

Fair enough, you should go out of your way to give him the pleasure though, as he will take on board any feedback you care to offer...
Wayne.

Sometimes i wonder why Andy would just the same mate.

Tom

No. He hasn't had the pleasure yet. I'll be there again in March, primarily to meet JJ it has to be said.

I don't know if by "He" you are referring to yourself in the third person or smugly saying that Andy hasn't had the pleasure of meeting you but either way just what is your problem? You seem to want get into fights.

Oh, and by the way, I don't always agree with Andy, for whatever that question was supposed to mean :rolleyes2:

Someone's tired.

One thing is certain and that is the quality of the commemorations themselves. No one presents tradition as well as the Brits, perhaps because they have so many to draw on. I would love to see a Victory Parade with all the old regiments (those that are left) marching. It is not my idea, but I heard a suggestion that it would be a great line for one of the TS manufacturers. Four years to develop it and then finish with the Royal Family circa 1918.

I meant 1919!

I think Britons make big commemorations because they are very nationalist, very attached to their traditions, proud of their diversity, and are very, very conservative...

One of your few good ideas.:wink2: and I like it. Found this old footage of the A.I.F marching on ANZAC day in London 1919.

Have you ever disagreed with Andy?

It may surprise you to know there have been times I disagreed with Andy. Not surprising since I have been dealing with K&C for over ten years. Also disagreed with my other suppliers on some aspects at times. So what ? Not sure what your point is.

However I have found that when Andy posts a response to negative comments / points on this forum he has usually got it right and as you can see the "likes" suggest others agree with him.

I think Brad has summed you up fairly well with his comment "just what is your problem? You seem to want get into fights".

As regards your responses "yawn" and "someones tired" they suggest to me somebody who realises he is losing the discussion /argument.

Happy collecting.

Brett

Think you could say that about any country to be honest

Very true. I wonder if people (ie most of Australia{sm4}) overplay the conservative qualities of Brits. They colonised a world, fought (with the significant help of others of course, not least the US and the Russians) fascism to a standstill and have had a huge impact on world culture. I'm not saying they were saints, but it is a bit hard to see them achieving all of this wedded only to old ideas. Some might still wear bowler hats and carry umbrellas , but they must have had at least their share of people like Barnes Wallis pushing the boundaries of knowledge.

Back to TS though. How cool is the idea for a Victory Parade?

Ahh, the boys from down under must be waking up :) what's the time there at the moment??...Sammy

10.27 am Sunday morning and the air conditioner has been on for an hour.

The east coast of Australia is in the grip of a heat wave at the moment so I feel your pain. It is made worse by the ineffective air conditioning at my TS shop. I would name the owner but that is not fair to Brett. {sm4}{sm4}
