Wayne if the cabin has no floor then it is possible to put the wind-screen and the windows in . But you explain to me , if the cabin has a floor ,how will you put the last window in ????? When two windows are in place then the third one has to go in..... How ????? windows have to be fixed from inside the cabin!!!!!!!

In thinking about this, I would imagine just leaving one side window open, as long as I could manipulate the other 2 windows into the one side using tweezers, etc. Michael

Why can't K&C (instead of these tin cans) produce a 1/30 scale die-cast (similar to FOV) instead? It will blend perfectly well the current medium in use...and cheaper. I have a few of these I use for spare parts in scratch-building. BTW, the tarp frames are very sturdy

The start up cost for doing die cast is very high requiring very high volume sales that K&C would not likely be able to achieve. Regarding FOV I have no idea of the situation overseas but I don't think the brand has been available in Oz for probably five years. Is FOV still producing items ?

Plenty of FOV around in Europe . In 2014 they released 15 new vehicles 1/32 scale : a new Opel blitz ambulance , a Kübelwagen type 82 as seen in Holland in 1944,a Panzer IV ausf G, A heavy Russian KV-1 tank , etc etc .........
Lots more to come in 2015

Thanks. I used to sell it and was good value but does not appear to have a distributor in Australia anymore. Even when was available here it was often much cheaper to buy from USA.

As Brett mentioned in his response, and I can confirm, the cost of producing die cast “anything” is horrendously expensive. Believe me I have looked into it several times over the years and I can truly say it has only got even more expensive!

Also “UNIMAX”, the company behind FOV is a huge toy company that sells by the tens, if not hundreds of thousands to large retailers such as Toys ‘R’Us...Walmart etc.

K&C and other toy soldier makers produce in the hundreds, seldom even in the low thousands, so it’s just not practical or commercial for manufacturers like us to use the same materials and methods you suggest.

Tinplate is strong, sturdy and has plenty of “playability” and, at least in my view, a tactile charm I like very much. Sorry you will skip this release but thankyou for your comments.
