Hi Guys,

As most of you know 2015 marks many auspicious military anniversaries...One of the most important is the Centenary of the “Gallipoli Campaign” in 1915 when British, French and “ANZAC” (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps) troops stormed the beaches in a combined attempt to capture the Gallipoli Peninsula and destroy the Turkish coastal batteries that controlled the Dardanelles Straits. The date of the landing was 25 April 1915.

By capturing Gallipoli the Allies hoped to begin a “new front” with the Central Powers (Germany, Austria Hungary and Turkey) . It was also hoped that a new supply route to Russia could be opened up. And finally...that a major defeat of Turkey, on its home soil, might force her out of the war.

Alas, the best laid plans...often go wrong. However, the bravery and fortitude of the Allied troops, particularly the Aussies and the Kiwis, in the most difficult of circumstances, became legendary.

K&C honours that legacy and the legend with the upcoming release of many new sets of figures and accessories that focus on the ANZACS and their British brothers-in-arms.

Here is just a small taste ... Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy

Totally agree can't wait for them to be released and hopefully some more.

You have made some DIO builders very happy.

We all knew that the troops would be coming in time for April, and you have delivered them to the battlefield on time :)

Well Done

Thanks Andy for this news.

Great looking figures! I especially like the soldier carrying his mate on his back. Hopefully, K&C will do something like this for Canadian collectors with Vimy Ridge or Amiens in 2017-2018!
Cheers,
Brendan

Let's not forget the Americans also. Oh, yes, them, Black Jack Pershing and those types :wink2:

Without the North Americans, the War has a different result and maybe they're saying "Setzen sie ein auf dem Grill" down under {eek3}

When America acknowledges the role Ned Kelly had in the American Revolution and defending the Alamo then maybe the history books on Gallipoli can be rewritten to include America's participation{sm4}.

Sorry mate, but I find your post odd and almost offensive.

Seems the Americans are late as usual, got lost on the way,I believe you chaps didn't show up until 1917.
Meanwhile,Gallipoli,Somme,Messines,Vimy Ridge,Passendachle.
Maybe in 2017 you might get something.

I have no idea -- nor really care -- who Ned Kelly is but the point is we seem to get plenty of Australian releases -- and I'm happy that our Aussie mates get something that is important to their history -- but for years folks have been asking for some US releases (Canadian would be welcome as well) without any success and the US didn't play an insignificant role in the War. Without American help, the Central Powers might have very well prevailed.

Apologies if I hijacked the thread. Not my intention so I will make it my last post other than to say that the figures look well done.

Really nice figures which will prove very useful over the coming weeks and months.
